AZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer has recently discovered a new exploit in the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game: lasers are completely overpowered at 60 frames per second. Exploits have been very popular inZelda: Tears of the Kingdomsince the start, and it seems that gamers are starting to discover new ways to break the game in the enhanced Switch 2 edition.

Originally released for the Nintendo Switch in 2023,Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomwas a huge hit. Not only did the title sell more than 10 million copies in less than a week, but it currently stands at over 21.73 million units sold, making it one of Nintendo’s most popular releases. Part of why people lovedTears of the Kingdomso much was due to how it allowed gamers to use abilities such as Ultrahand, which ties several items together, creating all sorts of devices. Gamers also used several exploits, such as item duplication glitches, to become even more overpowered, and now they’re doing the same with the recent Switch 2 edition.

Now, as reported byGames Radar, a player called evanthebouncy has made an interesting discovery whileplayingZelda: Tears of the Kingdomon the Nintendo Switch 2, sharing a 4-minute video of their feat. According to evanthebouncy, the experience of using pulse laser weapons in the Switch 2 edition is “insane,” as the firing rate of these lasers is tied to the game’s refresh rate. This essentially means that it’s possible to fire lasers much faster, which leads to these weapons becoming incredibly powerful, which was not Nintendo’s original intention.

Gamer Uses Nintendo Switch 2’s Higher Frame Rate as an Exploit for Deadly Lasers

This is not the only weird exploit discovered by gamers recently, though. A few weeks ago, for example, players uncovered an Autobuild Sharing exploit inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which allowed them to summon essentially any in-game item, object, or character, and this discovery was obviously used in the most absurd ways.

The enhanced Switch 2 edition ofZelda: Tears of the Kingdomcomes with several perks besides improved frame rates. The game also has faster load times, better resolution, and some new features such as Autobuild Sharing, Zelda Notes via an app, and more. However,Zeldagames on the Nintendo Switch 2 do not come with access to cloud saves, something that other games on the platform do. In any case, it’s still an excellent way to play the popular game.
