Although most player-made vehicles inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomare tools of destruction, a fan took inspiration fromThe Dark Knightfilm trilogy and recreated Batman’s iconic Tumbler vehicle using various Zonai devices. TheTears of the Kingdombuilder shared a 5-minute video of their Tumbler build in action, including a breakdown of the parts used in the process.
The Dark Knightfilm trilogy began in 2005 with the theatrical release ofBatman Begins, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Batman. After vowing to become the titular Dark Knight, Wayne acquired a prototype tank-like vehicle called the Tumbler, which came adorned with large wheels and a hidden motorcycle that could eject from the larger chassis. After asking if the Tumbler came in black, Batman used the Tumbler to patrol the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City. Though it was never called the Batmobile inThe Dark Knightfilms, the Tumbler is one of theBatmanfranchise’s most iconic vehiclesfor its durability and militaristic form.
Thoughsleeker Batmobile moves have been done inTears of the Kingdom, one player chose the iconic Tumbler as the subject of their latest project. On the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, Reddit user susususu-storage shared a video that lasted over five minutes that demonstrated the Tumbler from The Dark Knight films. While most vehicles crafted byTears of the Kingdomplayers are adorned with lasers and other weapons, the Tumbler’s main features are its speed and armor plating. The Tumbler was made with two smaller Zonai wheels on the front, with four large wheels in the rear. A Zonai flamethrower was attached to the back of the Tumbler to increase its speed and leave a trail of fire that can damage enemies. Some rusty greatswords were attached to rolling plates throughout the top side of the chassis, while smaller sliding plates adorned the rest of the Tumbler build.

Despite no enemies being harmed in the Tumbler’s demonstration montage, susususu-storage enclosed a QR code thatTears of the Kingdomplayers can share via Zelda Notesbefore importing the build onto the Switch 2 edition. In response, other Reddit users complimented susususu-storage for their effort in bringing Batman’s Tumbler to life inTears of the Kingdom.
While otherBatmobiles have taken the spotlight in games like theBatman: Arkhamseries, the Tumbler’s military-grade armor and versatility make it stand out against its sleeker counterparts. It remains to be seen what other popular vehicles will be remade inTears of the Kingdom.
