In a June interview, game director and Obsidian Entertainment co-founder Chris Parker shared 2’s story and roadmap. The title will be set two years after the original game and will feature the same four playable characters, but will be more narrative-driven and include a much larger map for players to explore. WhileGroundedsaw almost monthly updates during its early access period,Grounded 2will have a more relaxed patch schedule, with major content drops coming every four to five months.
While the game is currently slated to be released for PC and Xbox Series X/S,Grounded 2may eventually make the leap to PS5. The first title eventually launched on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation, leading many to believe that the sequel will do the same.
