Xbox Game Passmembers can start playingCall of Duty: WW2as part of their subscriptions starting today, June 30. This is the 17th—and final—title to reach Microsoft’s service in June 2025, as well as the 80th newXbox Game Passrelease since the turn of the year.
Developed by Sledgehammer Games with support from Raven Software,Call of Duty: WW2is the (currently) penultimate entry in Activision’s long-running series set during the Second World War, preceding the 2021CoD:Vanguard. It was released to predominantly favorable reviews, as underlined by its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 76 and a 70% reviewer recommendation rate.Call of Duty: WW2was the best-selling console game of 2017, as well as the third best-selling title of the year overall, with an estimated 20.6 million sales.
Five months ahead of its eighth anniversary,Call of Duty: WW2made its way to Microsoft’s subscription service, debuting as the 17th and final title in theXbox Game Pass June 2025 lineup. Since it’s not a day-one release, the 2017Call of Dutyentry is available across every non-Core subscription tier. However, unlike the vast majority of contemporary Xbox Game Pass releases, the first-person shooter isn’t launching with Xbox Cloud Gaming support. This is becoming a bit of a pattern withCall of Dutyreleases, withBlack Ops 6still being the only series entry currently available via Microsoft’s streaming service.

Looking ahead, Xbox Game Pass has a rare triple-release day scheduled for tomorrow, July 1, whenLittle Nightmares 2,Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Mecha Break are set to reach its content catalog.Mecha Breakis a day-one Xbox Game Pass release, so it will only be available via PC Game Pass and the Ultimate tier of the service, while the other two will also be playable using the more affordable Standard-tier membership.
Afterward, the next confirmed Xbox Game Pass release isTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, slated to debut on July 11. The full XGP Wave 1 lineup for next month is expected to be announced this Tuesday, July 1.
