Microsoft has begun rolling out theXboxJune 2025 update across Xbox One, Series X/S, PC, and the Xbox mobile app. The newXboxupdate introduces better UI options, additional cloud gaming features, easier discoverability for in-game perks, a consolidated PC games library, and more.

Over the past few years, Microsoft has steadily expanded the Xbox ecosystem to venture beyond the traditional console. With initiatives like Game Pass, Play Anywhere, and Cloud Gaming leading the charge, the gaming giant has been working to unify the Xbox experience across platforms like Series X/S, PC, and mobile, with monthly updates dropping on all of them simultaneously. Since last year, Microsoft has also beenporting Xbox games to rival platforms like PS5and Nintendo Switch, clearly signaling that the brand’s future won’t be restricted to a single platform.

Following the April 2025 update that enabled theStream Your Own Game library on Xbox consoles, this month’s update is a fair bit larger in scope. Among the biggest new features of the Xbox June 2025 update is the beta launch of Copilot for Gaming on mobile (coming to ROG Xbox Ally this holiday), designed to serve as an AI assistant that helps players with tips, walkthroughs, or in-game guidance. On the PC side of things, Xbox Insiders now have access to an aggregated game library that pulls titles from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net, and other “leading” storefronts - perhaps Steam and Epic Games Store - into one centralized place.

It’s also worth noting that Microsoft is ramping up its preservation efforts, with five more games added to Xbox’s Retro Classics collection with the June 2025 update, namelyCosmic Commuter,Heart of China,Skiing,Solar Storm, andSubterranea. The timing of these additions is a bit curious, as they come shortly after recent reports claimed thatXbox is working on a huge emulation platform for its classic titles. This would not only make older games playable on modern hardware, but also give them graphical upgrades, fix bugs and glitches, etc. However, none of this is officially confirmed, so Xbox fans should take such rumors with a grain of salt.
