World of Warcrafthas revealed its Trading Post inventory for August 2025, including a bunch of chess-themed ensembles, weapons, and mounts. Featuring the Grandmaster’s Prophetic Board flying mount as the free reward for the month,World of Warcraftplayers who enjoy the classic strategic game will have plenty of reasons to visit the Trading Post this August.
The Trading Post is a popular in-game store introduced in early 2023 during theDragonflightexpansion. Every month, theWorld of WarcraftTrading Post gets a stock of new cosmeticsthat are purchased with Trader’s Tender, a special currency earned by completing tasks in the Traveler’s Log.
Now, the Trading Post catalog for August 2025 has been revealed. The lion’s share of items in the new inventory are inspired by chess, with both the white-and-gold Grandmaster’s Royal and the black, silver, and red Grandmaster’s Prophetic versions to choose from. Chess-themed transmog sets, weapons, and even mounts can be obtained this month, with the Grandmaster’s Prophetic Board available as the free reward for fans who fill up their Traveler’s Log progress bar and earn their stipend of Trader’s Tender.

Beyond the chess transmogs, there are plenty of other black and white items coming to the Trading Post this month. Midnight and Snowy versions of the War Wraps, War Skirt, Classic Eye Patch, Vigilante’s Mask, Dueler’s Shoulder Cape, and Sweatsuit ensembles are all available as well. A few popular-yet-unrelated items are back too, including Worgli the Apprehensive, the Kor’kron Warsaber, and the Sentinel War Wolf fromAugust 2024’s Trading Post inWorld of Warcraft.
While no majorWorld of Warcraftholidays happen in August, there are still a few events that will help players fill out their Traveler’s Log. The Trial of Style starts August 1 and the Darkmoon Faire on August 2, with both events running for a week. What’s more, theTurbulent Timeways event is ongoing inWorld of Warcraftthrough August 4, meaning fans will still probably be able to use it to make some progress for a few days.
That said, players probably won’t have any trouble finding things to do to complete their Traveler’s Log.August 5 is the release date forWorld of WarcraftPatch 11.2, Ghosts of K’aresh, with Season 3 kicking off August 12. Fans will likely be able to earn points towards the Traveler’s Log simply by engaging in world activities like Phase Diving, earning reputation with the K’aresh Trust Renown faction, and generally enjoying just about anything the new update will have to offer.
