Persona5: The Phantom Xwill have multiple banners available for players to pull from, being for weapons, gold, and platinum tickets. Each banner has its own Pity system, though you’ll eventually get 5-Star pulls as long as you keep investing in the same banner.
Some banners are limited-time events, meaning your odds of getting specific characters are better than usual, but only for a certain amount of time, such as the Joker banner when the game first launched. After getting the character you want, many will wonder if that pity carries over to the next banner or if they should start saving their tickets and Meta Crystals now; here’s everything we know.
Does Pity Carry Over in P5X
Pity does carry over in Persona 5 Phantom X, forsimilar banner types, such as character-specific platinum banners. Pity for Platinum and Gold banners carries over between all active banners of that same ticket, so if there are multiple platinum tickets active at once, your Pity for all of them will be the same. This lump sum pity carries over even after banners end, so there’s no real issue with always trying to pull something new.
Even with Pity carrying over, you can alwayshold your Platinum Tickets and Meta Crystals until the next banner, as there is no maximum carry amount for either. This can set you up for getting a new character right on release if you already have everyone else you want to pull. You can also see on the banner screen just how much time is left in a banner before it resets, giving you a good idea of whether you want to try and hit Pity again and potentiallyearn that characterin time.
Is There a Soft Pity System in P5X?
At the time of writing, itseems as though there is no soft Pity system in the game. Many players report hitting hard Pity (the maximum) more often than not. For me personally, I’ve hit hard Pity to get three of the four 5-star characters I currently have. Online discussions between players all seem to indicate that it will more often than not cost the full 80 pulls from the platinum banner in order to get the unique character.
Trying to hit hard pity can be difficult, just to get a specific character you want, but as long as you save and spend your Meta Crystals only on the platinum banner, you should usually have enough time to get one or two hard pity pulls. When gettinga five-star pullon a platinum banner, you have a50% chance of getting the main listed character, so pulling twice within the time limit will more often than not leave you with the character you want.
