Every new season ofDiablo 4brings a new currency to collect and spend on season-specific upgrades, along with a new reputation system to earn to progress through the seasonal ranks. Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim’s new reputation is Horadric Knowledge, and you’ll be collecting it for much of the season.
While Horadric Knowledge isn’t mandatory to experience a lot of the new content in the season, focusing on earning it can help you get items and consumables used in the season, while also unlocking the Seasonal Quests to see the story it also has to offer. Here are some of the best methods for farming Horadric Knowledge.
Best Farming Methods for Horadric Knowledge in Diablo 4
When you first start the season, your character will be level 1 and your options will be more limited. For thefirst forty or so levels, your best option isfarming the Helltide. There is almost always a Helltide active, and defeating powerful enemies within is a good source of early Horadric Knowledge since it also scales down to your current level. Completing Grim Favor activities in the Helltide will also help you earn additional rewards with the Tree of Whispers, helping you level up fast to unlock the later methods for getting Horadric Knowledge.
Horadric Knowledge isn’t picked up from defeated enemies, and you won’t see notifications when you earn it; instead, you’ll only see when you rank up.
Once you’repast about level 40, the next best method isfarming Nightmare Dungeons. Nightmare Dungeons are also a great source of Horadric Vials, which are the currency for this season, though at lower levels, you won’t clear them as fast or earn as much XP to get your base character level up. When in Nightmare Dungeons, you’ll also want to make sure you clear the Horadric Strongroom that spawns inside.
Another great source of Horadric Knowledge is tocomplete the seasonal queststhat unlock as you get more Horadric Knowledge. This will require you to use one of the two methods mentioned above as the seasonal quests are unlocked with every other ranks for the first few ranks of the season. Try returning to the Horadric Focus in Cerrigar every two or three ranks to start the next seasonal quest.
Should You Buy Horadric Knowledge in Diablo 4?
One of the methods for getting Horadric Knowledge not mentioned above is buying it using Horadric Vials at the pedestal next to the Horadric Focus. Simply put,this is not worthwhile, and you should save your Horadric Vialsas they have other uses in upgrading your Horadric Spells. The cost in Vials is very high for how much Horadric Knowledge you get, and as long as you instead focus on playing a good bit of the season, you’ll reach fairly high Horadric Knowledge levels without the need to buy any. Aside from the seasonal quests, the loot you get from Horadric Knowledgeis randomized, so it’s better to save your Vials to spend them on something with a known result.
