Farming Uniques inDiablo 4can be a pain, especially once you run out of materials for opening Lair Boss Hoards. Thankfully, Belial is here to make the grind a bit more manageable and significantly more efficient, assuming you know how Betrayer’s Husks work.

Grinding forLair Boss loot inDiablo 4has never been easier after the system got reworked in Season 8, which changed how boss materials worked. More importantly, that season also introduced Belial as another Lair Boss. If you want to take advantage of what he provides, here’s a guide on how to use Betrayer’s Husks.

How to Farm Betrayer’s Husks

Players can get Betrayer’s Husks by beating Belial, but only if he appears after you open any of the Boss Hoards in the game. Belial won’t drop any husks if you beat him in his Lair Boss Dungeon (Palace of the Deceiver in Kehjistan), so if you want to farm this Hoard key material, you’ll need to farm the other Lair Bosses.

Thankfully, Belial can appear after any Lair Boss fight, so if you have tons of Hoard keys/materials for one boss, you should be able to get a decent collection of Betrayer’s Husks after using them all.

While you’re playing, make sure totarget Tree of Whispers bounties. Doing so can earn you a ton of Malignant Hearts for Varshan, which you can use to farm other Uniques inDiablo 4while also potentially summoning Belial.

Other potential sources of Betrayer’s Husks include:

The base form of Belial that appears after a Lair Boss fight is fairly easy to beat, and once his health reaches zero, he will retreat. Beating him here will also reward you with a second batch of loot drops based on the Lair Boss you just defeated, essentially giving you two drops' worth of loot for one set of boss summoning materials.

Where to Use Betrayer’s Husks in Diablo 4

Betrayer’s Husks are used toopen Belial’s Hoard. However, as you’ve surely noticed by now, base form Belial does not cause Belial’s Hoard to appear after beating him in a different boss' lair. For his specific chest to appear, youneed to fight and beat him in the Palace of the Deceiver, which is found in theAmber Sandsregion in Kehjistan.

This is Belial’s personal boss lair, and here, you’ll get to fight him in his giant form. It’s a callback to his original boss fight inDiablo 3, albeit with a few different mechanics.

D4 Belial Loot Drops

The cool thing about Belial and his loot is thathe does not have a unique loot table. Instead, you’ll get to choose which Lair Boss' loot you’re able to get after opening Belial’s Hoard. Essentially, this means that beating Belial will let you earn loot even without having to fight a specific boss or farm for specific resources, making him an extremely convenient source of the best items in the game.

As with all things Lair Boss-related, these are onlyapplicable on Torment 1and above.
