Of all the various tools Sam can use to carry cargo and deal with enemies inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach, none may be as universally beneficial as the variousskeletonsSam unlocks throughout the course of the game. Each of thethree skeleton typesprovides a wide range of benefits, from a massive increase in speed, to the ability to carry an obscene amount of weight. InDeath Stranding 2,there is even a skeleton that helps Sam in battle. In this guide, we’ll show youhow to unlock and upgrade all skeleton types inDeath Stranding 2.

Where to Get the Battle Skeleton in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Western Environmental Observatory:

The first skeleton type that Sam will unlock inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beachis theBattle Skeleton. As combat plays a much larger role inDS2,it is not surprising that this exoskeleton is the first to be showcased. For many new players, the best thing about any skeleton is the fact that it will increase Sam’s carry capacity significantly. Along with this, the Battle Skeleton will provide extra protection from damage, and a boost to Sam’s speed.

TheBattle Skeleton will first be unlocked during Order 10, which connects the Western Environmental Observatory to the Chiral Network. The Battle Skeleton Lv1 is a reward for the initial connection, and is not tied to a specific connection level. Subsequent upgrades are tied to the connection level.

The Dowser:

TheBoost Skeletonis the only skeleton inDeath Stranding 2that essentially functions the same as the model in the originalDeath Stranding. This skeleton is all about speed. Using Sam’s battery, the Boost Skeleton provides a massive increase in speed, which is useful for a wide range of situations. Obviously, it’s great for crossing long distances, but it can also be used in combat. Using any of Sam’s jump-based attacks will have a devastating effect when performed at full speed.

The Boost Skeleton is unlocked throughThe Dowser, the prepper that is automatically unlocked when you completeOrder 21. As it is a main order, there is unfortunately no way to get it early.

East Fort Knot:

Surprisingly, theBokka Skeletonis not unlocked by connecting withDS2’s Bokka prepper. Instead, you’ll have to wait until much later in the game. It does make sense, however, that this skeleton is unlocked as you prepare to venture up into the mountains. The Bokka Skeleton’s sole purpose is to help Sam navigate the incredibly rugged terrain that he encounters in the central region of the continent. Just like us, you probably looked at those massive peaks early in the game and wondered how the heck you’d make it up. Well, you’ll be using the Bokka Skeleton, that’s how.

The Bokka Skeleton is unlocked by completingOrder 30. Just like the other skeletons, the initial delivery to East Fort Knot will unlock the skeleton, and the upgrades will be unlocked by increasing Sam’s connection level.
