Diablo 4Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim gives players new Horadric Spells that can be equipped and used on any class. These spells have various parts that are put together and customized to make them unique, and every part can be upgraded as you play more of the season.
Upgrading your Horadric Spells is done using the new currency added in the season, Horadric Phials. There are a few different ways to get Horadric Phials, and it’s important to start farming them early on to pay for some of the more expensive upgrades. Here are all the ways of getting Horadric Phials and which ones are best.
How to Farm Horadric Phials in Diablo 4
Horadric Phails can drop from just about any Elite enemy you find in the game, with bosses also having a fairly high drop rate. Instead of wandering the world trying to find powerful enemies, it’s best tostick to Helltide eventsand look for powerful enemies inside. Helltides also offer additional ways of getting Horadric Phials:
Helltides offer an easy way to farm Horadric Phials that can be done easily at any level, though as you progress through the season, you’ll want to start prioritizing Nightmare Dungeons and Horadric Strongrooms. Long term and on higher difficulties, clearing both of these dungeons will result in stronger enemies to drop more, along with higher rarity chests that drop a lot.
Horadric Strongrooms will give you the most Phialsonce you start earning the high rank rewards.
Horadric Phials will also start appearing in chests and caches that you open during the season, making the Tree of Whispers even better if you’re using it to level up fast. Fighting in the Helltide, completing Nightmare Dungeons, and Horadric Strongrooms will also earn you Horadric Knowledge passively. As you progress through the later tiers ofHoradric Knowledge, you’re able to use the Horadric Focus to get rewards, which areoften caches that can hold large sums of Horadric Phials.
How Should You Spend Horadric Phials in Diablo 4?
Horadric Phials are the only way you can upgrade your Horadric Spells, and it’s recommended you only use them to do so. It’s alsorecommended you don’t use too many early on, as you’ll unlock a lot of other spell components that can be upgraded, so you may end up wasting your Phials on a spell you don’t like. You can also craft Horadric Jewels, which can further your spells, though it’s also recommended you hold off until you know what spells you do or don’t like. Continue to complete Horadric Strongrooms to get more spell pieces and save your Phials to really upgrade the custom spell you like the best.
