This enraged the community, with fans saying that the devs “ruined” the remaster, and that there was no need to add anything to the game, as it would make it much less cohesive. Others also called the audio “awful” and even said, seemingly jokingly, that leaving out the scream was “a crime against humanity.”

IGN reached out to Relic Entertainment, and the devs explained that the scream was removed due to having considerably lower audio quality than other files used in the sequence.
