An insider has shared an exciting update regarding Insomniac Games' long-rumoredMarvel’s Spider-Man 2spin-off,Marvel’s Venom, claiming that an official reveal may arrive at either the rumored September State of Play event or at Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards in December. Marvel fans are currently awaiting more news on Insomniac Games’Marvel’s Wolverine, which hasn’t seen the light of day since its reveal in 2021, but it looks like the studio could be about to reveal a whole other game beforehand.

Insomniac Games has never confirmed whether or not it is working on aMarvel’s Venomgame, but a massive leak in December 2023 seemingly revealed that the studio wasn’t justdevelopingMarvel’s Spider-Man 3, but also aVenomspin-off, a newRatchet & Clankgame, and anX-Mengame. These titles were revealed during a ransomware attack on the company, which saw a group of hackers steal almost 2TB worth of assets, documents, and more. However, the leak may have drastically affected the studio’s original plans, as a newMarvel’s Venomgame for PS5 was supposed to launch this year, which is seeming less and less likely as the months go by.

TheMarvel’s Spider-Manstudio has oftenremained coy on the possibility of aVenomspin-off, but that hasn’t stopped fans from begging for almost two years now. While many believed the leakedVenomgame had been canceled following the massive data breach, it looks like there may still be hope. According to industry insiderDetective Seeds, who has proven reliable in the past, Insomniac Games could be gearing up to revealMarvel’s Venomeither during a State of Play event in September (which hasn’t actually been confirmed by Sony) or during Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards in December.

A Marvel’s Venom Reveal Could Be On the Way

Fans are skeptical about the possibility of Insomniac revealing aMarvel’s Venomspin-off anytime soon, and for good reason. While it may have appeared in the massive ransomware breach in 2023, so did a newDLC forMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. Fans were left waiting for a full year before Insomniac Games revealed it had “no additional story content planned” for the sequel. Although the DLC was never announced by Insomniac in an official capacity, it proves that the leaked roadmap was either inaccurate or, more likely, drastically altered following the breach.

With that being said, the late, great Tony Todd, who voices the iconic Venom inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, did previouslytease a potentialMarvel’s Venomgamejust a few months before he sadly passed away. The legendary actor had already gone on record and revealed thatMarvel’s Spider-Man 2only used 10% of his recorded lines, but later took to Twitter and claimed that he had completed “two major projects.” The first of those two is quite obviouslyMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, and fans were quick to assume that the second could be the potentialVenomspin-off.
