With some major gameplay changes included in patch 1.4.4, fans are hopeful that the update will bring the game to a significantly higher standard.
Undisputedhas had a rather turbulent few months since its full release last October. Developer Steel City Interactive had the weight of the world on its shoulders when it releasedUndisputed, as there had not been a AAA boxing game available since EA’sFight Night Championin 2011. Unfortunately,Undisputedwas met with mixed reviews from players, with some even claiming that the game felt more fluid during its early access phase. Thankfully, Steel City has remained committed to improving the game through a steady stream of new updates, with the latest patch including some highly requested changes and improvements.
Following on fromUndisputed’s big 1.4 content updatelast month, Steel City has continued to provide fans with numerous hotfixes, with the latest one now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. There are plenty of notable changes and bug fixes in the July 16 update, including updates to Andy Ruiz’s punch speed and in-game rating, stability improvements, animation fixes, and more. However, undoubtedly the biggest improvement in update 1.4.4 is to the game’s punch tracking. According to the official patch notes, Steel City has addressed a bug that was causing major punch tracking issues. The studio says that punch tracking should be “notably better” after today’s update.
While there are no new fighters being added to the game in the latest update, there are some fixes for existing boxers.Undisputed’s Mexican Monster DLCadded seven new fighters for fans to play as, including the likes of former World Heavyweight Champion Andy Ruiz, David “The Mexican Monster” Benavidez, Sugar Ray Leonard ’87, and more. With the release of update 1.4.4, all three of the aforementioned boxers have had some form of improvement or adjustment. Andy Ruiz has had his punch speed and in-game rating increased, while both David Benavidez and Sugar Ray Leonard ’87 have also had their punch speed increased.
Fans can also expect to find plenty of fixes for some ofUndisputed’s most severe bugs, many of which seemingly aid in the punch tracking improvements. Steel City says it has fixed an issue where punches would miss dazed opponents, fixed an issue with punches occasionally missing or going over the opponent’s head in close-range fighting, and more. The full list of improvements, changes, and fixes can be found in the full 1.4.4 patch notes below.
