The gameplay trailer forTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4revealed several old and new characters who will make an appearance in the remake bundle, including the orange-clad Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Michaelangelo. Developer Iron Galaxy is working hard onTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, following up on the positively received first duo of remakes forPro Skater 1and2. The previous entry continued the original series' tradition of including secret and bonus skaters, with Jack Black and a classic Roswell alien joining the cast ofTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
A number of guest skaters have already been confirmed for the new duo of remakes. A series regular of the original games,Bam Margera will be playable inTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4on day one despite rumors claiming his omission. Infamous for his wild antics and controversial behavior — traits that are thoroughly represented in the original games, such as a mission that sees Margera tasking the player with knocking Alcatraz tourists into the San Francisco Bay inTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4— Margera himself previously indicated that he might not make an appearance in the upcoming remakes. Now that he’s been confirmed, the skateboarding legend will feature alongside the one member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who can match his energy.
The wisecracking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Michaelangelo will be playable inTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4on its July 11 release date. While there have been a number of iterations of the character over the years, Michaelangelo’s appearance in the new game most closely resembles the turtle’s design in the 2023 filmTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. A close-up shot of the ninja turtle’s skateboard in the trailer matches the design of Michaelangelo’s board in promo images for the film, adding to the guest character’s design similarities. Although the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are originally from New York City, it seems Michaelangelo has claimed the sewers of Los Angeles for himself in what could be anew park forTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4is shaping up to be a successful remake of the early 2000s classics, and a solid follow-up to the first two remakes. Although some popular features ofPro Skater 3and4will be absent from the remake bundle, Iron Galaxy has made an effort to translate themissing content fromTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4with new gameplay customization options. IfTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4can capture the nostalgia of the originals while continuing the success of its predecessor, it’s only a matter of time before otherTony Hawkgames receive the remake treatment.
