Each striker inMecha BREAKcomes with a steep learning curve. While learningthe basic abilities of each mecha might seem easy, it could take a long time to master them. On top of learning the abilities of their own hero, players should also have some knowledge of other strikers.
Aquila is the master of long-range gunfights, thanks to its sniper rifle. The longer lock-on range allows this striker to keep a safe distance from enemies while dealing significant damage to them. Aquila is not a flawless striker, but it is a master of landing final blows.
Aquila’s Weapon And Abilities in Mecha BREAK, Explained
Before talking about the abilities, let’s have a quick look at Aquila’s weapon. The Mobile Beam Cannon is a long-range sniper rifle that fires energy bullets. The weapon comes with two fire modes: hip fire and scoped fire. The latter deals over 80% more damage per shot compared to the former. Each fire mode uses a different magazine, but the hip fire requires a brief cooldown after each shot before the next bullet becomes available, and one of the firing modes requires charged firing.
The damage from a Mobile Beam Cannon is Direct Damage, meaning that part of the damage will directly target the enemy’s HP, while the other part will deplete its shield.
Aux 1: Pulse Claw
When Pulse Claw is used, it throws a drone towards the locked-on target. If the target cannot dodge the drone, it will beimmobilized, which simply prevents the target from moving or shooting. The immobilization time varies from 1 second to almost 2 seconds based on the mass of the target. Ultra-Heavy targets will only get immobilized for 1 second. Pulse Claw will also cause an interference, which disables the target’s FCS for 2.5 seconds.
Since the drone doesn’t move too fast, it’s best to activate Pulse Claw when you are close enough to the enemy. This will also prevent the enemy from dodging the drone, asthey won’t have enough time to react. Even if the target is a melee striker, you shouldn’t be scared of getting close, as the immobilization will give you enough time to move away and land a shot.
Aux 2: Airborne Kit
Enabling the Airborne Kit activates a secondary energy bar for Aquila and allows it to remain floating in the air. This is an exceptional ability for those looking to stand still while in the air and hunt down targets.
With the Airborne Kit, Aquila will have its energy tank doubled, which significantly helps with its mobility. While the ability is active, evading in the air will make Aquila untargetable for opponents, which is quite useful for repositioning after landing a few shots on the targets. It’s also best to turn the Airborne Kit off after landing your shot. Reusing the ability only has a 1-second cooldown.
The major limitation of the Airborne Kit is its dedicated energy tank. So, the player must manage that energy carefully.
Aux 3: Multilock Radar
Using this ability, Aquila will get a significant boost to its lock-on range.Up to six targets can be locked on simultaneously, and the bullet-ready cooldown for the Mobile Beam Cannon will be significantly reduced.
The fire rate of the weapon will increase while Multilock Radar is active, but the weapon will only shoot each targeted striker once. Players can shoot each target once from hip fire and then once more from the scoped mode to get the most out of this ability.
Tips For Mastering Aquila in Mecha BREAK
The first thing that every Aquila player should learn is to keep a safe distance from brawler strikers like Welkin. Unless you have a Pulse Claw to use, getting up close with melee strikers is never a good idea, as Aquila doesn’t have the tools to withstand the heavy damage coming from melee attacks.
The Aquila players should focus more on landing shots from distance and repositioning. This is the best way to be annoying with Aquila. At heart, Aquila is more of a support striker who excels at helping allies to kill their direct opponent.Aquila is most effective when the target is busy dealing with another ally. This will distract them from noticing the shots coming from Aquila and will reduce the necessity for you to reposition after each shot.
Another thing to avoid while playing Aquila is the targets that fly at high speeds. It’s not necessary to try and avoid them completely, but you should try to prevent drawing their attention when they are not busy elsewhere.Strikers like Falcon or Skyraider can easily escape from Aquila’s reticle, especially Falcon, which is totally untargetable while using its flying ability. So, when youdraw the attention of a highly agile unit, they can easily maneuver around you and escape your shots, which puts the player in a completely vulnerable position.
Managing the energy bar is a crucial task while playing as Aquila. Simply put, running out of energy in the midst of a fight is quite dangerous for Aquila, and that’s why using the Airborne Kit wisely can be a lifesaver most of the time.
Don’t be shy about using Multilock Radar on single targets. Yes, they pay off better when multiple targets are in sight, but remember that the entire match period is not long enough to find more than a few opponents close together. So, if you feel like an enemy is only a few shots away from death, give it everything you have to hunt down the striker. Each kill will outnumber the enemy team for at least 15 seconds, and that’s a big advantage in scoring points.
While using the scoped shot does deal a lot more damage, it’s sometimes just not easy to stand away and hunt the enemies. Remember that Aquila is agile for some reason, and it can still be quite deadly by just moving and roaming above enemies and hitting them with hip fire shots. The scoped shots are powerful, but since they require manual targeting, there is a high chance of missing shots when firing in this mode. That’s why hip fire is safer and more effective despite dealing less damage.
One last thing to remember when playing as Aquila is to always hunt downground-focused strikers likeTriceraorStegoif there are any on the enemy team. Both of these strikers become easy targets for Aquila when they switch to their stationary mode. Aquila players can easily lurk around above the head of their targets and land consecutive shots without even getting attacked by them. Since these strikers are used for holding an area, Aquila can break their defensive structure quickly and force them to leave the area.
Thanks to Aquila’s direct damage, the extra shield from Stego or Tricera will not completely block the incoming damage. That’s when the scoped firing mode proves its value, as the stationary targets are easy prey for Aquila’s most dangerous shots.
While Stego and Tricera are the ideal targets for Aquila, other heavy strikers likeInfernoorHurricaneare also too slow to react to an Aquila player. The only exception here isNarukami, which also favors standing still, but its stealth abilities help it to remain hidden from sigh. This can make it quite difficult for Aquila to locate Narukami before it’s too late.
