James Gunn proves he’s a staple of the comic book movie industry with his writing and dialogue forSuperman(2025). With James Gunn’s writing and direction, along with the talented cast who play these characters, some greatly memorable quotes inSupermandeserve recognition for their words and delivery.

Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern in Superman

The best quotes inSupermanare filled with heart, power, and wit, providing audiences with a thrilling time to remember for those who want to keep the inspirational words of heroes and the hateful words of villains constantly in their heads.

8“Sorry, Kid. Superman Couldn’t Make It. But You’ve Got An Upgrade.”

Green Lantern’s Cocky Arrival in Jarhanpur

When Boravia troops invade Jarhanpur, Superman is too busy to save the day. Instead, it’s the Justice Gang that hits the scene. Green Lantern, in all his cocky and arrogant glory, descends down and speaks to the child who raised the flag for Superman and lets him know that while he might not be Superman, he’s an upgrade. It’s a hopeful scene that shows how Superman has inspired other superheroes to involve themselves in international affairs without a care for political repercussions, but it also shows how much of a heroic jerk Guy Gardner is, aided by Nathan Fillion’s charisma.

7“Yeah, And He’s Not Even A Very Good One… But He’s Out There Alone, And He’s Probably Scared.”

Superman Expresses His Desire to Save Krypto

Superman and Krypto don’t have the best relationship during this foster fiasco. Krypto is unruly and doesn’t really respond to commands very well. Having a dog with the powers of a Kryptonian but the mind of a dog is a bad idea, but when Lex Luthor steals him, Superman doesn’t even ponder the peace and quiet. Superman tells Lois that he’s willing to risk his life by surrendering to the U.S. Government if it gives him a chance to find Krypto and save him, because every life is precious – even a dog as messy as Krypto.

6“I Don’t Need Your Help. I’m Goddamn Mister Terrific.”

Mr. Terrific Proves He’s the Smartest Man in the World

Mr. Terrific was an absolute standout duringSuperman, and he’s clearly cut from a different cloth from Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. Sure, he still has his flaws as a character who’s willing to kill and doesn’t seem interested in people all that much, but he knows he’s a genius; it’s just that he lacks the villainousego of Lex Luthor. When it’s time for Mr. Terrific to save the day, he makes it pretty clear that he doesn’t need help because he knows exactly who he is.

5“I Love You, Lois. I Probably Should Have Told You That A Long Time Ago.”

Superman Tells Lois His True Feelings

Superman loves humanity, but it’s Lois Lane who represents the very best of the human race. Superman is smitten by Lois, and his adoration and love for her is clear in every scene that she features in. Their relationship has only been going steady (and secret) for 3 months, but Superman is obviously completely in love with her, which is why it hits even harder when he tells her for the first time. Not only is his delivery sweet and truthful, but he seems disappointed in himself that he didn’t tell Lois when they first met. It’s a true love at first sight moment that shows how important romance is to the lives of Superman and Lois Lane.

4“I’m Aware Envy Consumes My Every Waking Moment…”

Lex Luthor’s Hateful Monologue to Superman

I’m aware that envy consumes my every waking moment. I know when they mention Galileo or Einstein or one of these other twits in the same breath as me, I feel a tide of vomit burn the back of my throat! But at least Galileo did something. He wasn’t some dopey Venusian catapulted onto this planet just to have the world fawn over him! Because his strength illuminates how WEAK we all really are! So, my envy is a calling! It is the sole hope for humanity, because it is what has driven me to annihilate you!

If Lex Luthor is known for any three things, let it be this: He’s bald, he’s super intelligent, and he has an immensely petty hatred for Superman. All three of those are combined in Nicholas Hoult’s performance as Lex Luthor, and they pour out of him like an explosion of dialogue through his final monologue of the movie. Lex rants about his ego and he superior he is tonot just Superman, but to the most famous of intellectuals throughout history. His verbal beating of Superman is only aided by his fury unleashedthrough Ultraman’s puncheswith a cry of1A!

3“Maybe That’s the Real Punk Rock.”

Superman Being in Love With Humanity Makes Him a Rebel

Superman hasn’t had an easy week. Not only has he had his first big fight with Lois in their 3-month relationship, but he’s also just found out, along with the entire world, that his parents from Krypton sent him to Earth to conquer the planet. As Lois visits Clark in his apartment, they talk about frustrations and differences, with Lois expressing how Superman sees everyone as beautiful and his hope and optimism for a better tomorrow isn’t punk rock, but pop radio. Superman’s response is simple: he tells Lois that maybe the real punk rock is seeing the beauty in everyone, tofocus on the good, not the bad, in a world that’s just so negative.

2“Your Choices, Clark. Your Actions. That’s What Makes You Who You Are.”

Pa Kent Lets His Son Know He Isn’t Defined By Where He Comes From

Parents aren’t for telling their children who they’re supposed to be. We are here to give y’all tools to help you make fools of yourselves all on your own. Your choices, Clark. Your actions. That’s what makes you who you are. Let me tell you something, son, I couldn’t be… more proud of you.

Superman has been through a lot, and with thirty years of believing that his parents sent him to Earth in a desperate attempt to save his life from a dying planet, he finally discovers the “truth”. Jor-El and Lara’s message is recovered and translated to show that Superman was sent here to kill people and conquer the planet, but a loving speech from his true dad, Jonathan Kent, makes Clark see that his heritage isn’twhat makes him Superman, it’s his own belief – the decisions that he makes and the way he feels. Superman isn’t defined by his culture or where he’s from, but the choices he makes to save people with his gifts, finalizing everything with Pa Kent saying how proud he is fora true tearjerker.

1“I’m As Human As Anyone.”

Superman Shows Immense Vulnerability to Prove Luthor Wrong

I’m as human as anyone. I love, I get scared. I wake up every morning and despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other and I attempt to make the best choices I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being human. And that’s my greatest strength.

The best quote fromSupermanbelongs to David Corenswet’s Superman, where he monologues to Lex Luthor about how truly human he is. Superman expresses a wide range of emotions through his frustration, fears, and love. The speech really hones in just how human Superman really is, and how, because of his flaws, he can be just like the people of Earth that he adores so much, even if they are petty, bald, andtrying to kill him.
