As a result, there have been plenty of fun and exciting collaboration events over the last few years, but some definitely stand out more than others for what they offer. Now that there have been so many of these promotions, it’s time to rankthe bestOverwatch 2collabsbased on the quality and quantity of the skins that are packed into the event.
7One Punch Man
One Of Overwatch 2’s Earliest Events Offered Some Bold And Striking Costumes
Though theOne Punch Manevent was one of the earliest collaborations inOverwatch 2, it’s still one that many fans look back on fondly because of the unique skins that came with it. Inspired by theimmensely popular anime and manga seriesof the same name, theOne Punch Manevent brought with it four skins that can be equipped for Genji, Soldier, Doomfist, and Kiriko.
While it would have been nice to see one or two more outfits added, such as those referencing characters like Speed-o'-Sound Sonic and Fabuki, the quality of the existing alternate skins remains very high. They especially stand out due to their eye-catching and vibrant appearance, with Tatsumaki’s green hair and Saitama’s signature yellow jumpsuit allowing the characters to stand out on the screen whenever they appear on the front lines.
6Transformers
Players Can Roll Into Battle As Either An Autobot Or Decepticon
Though theTransformersevent only introduced four new skins to the game, there isn’t really a bad one out of the bunch. Whether it’s the giant, bulky, red and blue Optimus Prime skin for Reinhart, or the devilish Megatron makeover for Ramattra, all of these skins look just as badass as they do in the source material, especially with all theAutobot and Decepticonlogos splattered across them.
It was also nice to see some new skins for heroes who don’t usually get much of attention in these events, specifically Illari and Ramatrra. Still, while fans could maybe have appreciated a few other iconic Transformers thrown in, such as Starscream or Soundwave, what Blizzard managed to cook up here is still something special.
5Cowboy Bebop
Spike And The Gang Rock Up To The Objective
ThoughCowboy Bebopis one of the most beloved anime out there, considering it’s a little old by this point, it was a huge surprise when Blizzard announced that it would be involved in a collaboration event forOverwatch 2. The event bringsSpike, Jet, and the rest of their ragtag crewinto the game with some frankly incredible skins, most of which contain tons of small details that reference the original show.
While Mauga and Ashe look almost identical to Jet and Faye, respectively, it’s really Cassidy who steals the show here with his cosplay of the iconic Spike Spiegel. Sure, Wrecking Ball can look a little odd considering his alternate costume is largely just a reskin, but the rest of the gang looks amazing from a visual standpoint.
4Diablo
Players Can Pick Out A Nightmarish Diablo-Inspired Outfit For Their Hero
Blizzard is no stranger to referencingits other gameswithinOverwatch. In fact, they’ve been doing it since the first game when Blizzard World became a stage early on in theOverwatch’slife cycle. So, while aDiablocollaboration was inevitable, there’s still a great selection of cosmetics on offer here, which feed into the spooky and nightmarish tone of that franchise.
By far the most popular skin in this event is Moira as Lilith, which looks eerily identical to the overarching villain of the fourth mainline game. It’s also pretty great to see Pharah sporting a hood that covers her face with her Inarius skin, giving her a very mysterious and dark aura that isn’t usually associated with the character. Reinhardt’s big flashy golden armor is also a joy to witness in action.
3My Hero Academia
Blizzard Did An Excellent Job Replicating The Captivating Art Style Of My Hero Academia
TheMy Hero Academiaanime series is well-known for its flashy and colorful aesthetic, and this translates perfectly to the world ofOverwatch 2. While many of the main characters from the series have skins that can be equipped as part of this event, it’s clear the designers at Blizzard wanted to make each of them stand out as much as possible by focusing heavily on the color palette. As such, while Reaper’sShigarakimight look dark and menacing, Juno’s Uraraka skin is carefree and fun.
It’s also staggering just how much attention went into the small details in these outfits, such as Reinhardt getting All Might’s iconic two golden quips at the top of his hair. Simply put, it’s a great collaboration where all the skins are impressive and well worth picking up.
2Street Fighter
Plenty Of Iconic Capcom Fighters Step Into The World Of Overwatch
Blizzard clearly went all out when creating the new skins for theStreet Fighterevent. While most events only stick with four to five skins in total, this collaboration brought with it a total of eight, the majority of which succeeded in turning the familiarOverwatchcharacters intoiconic Capcom combatants. Kiriko as Juri and Juno as Chun-Li are definitely the highlights here, with both of them having almost everything about their usual attire changed to feel like entirely different characters.
Winston’s Blanka skin could maybe have been made to look a little more interesting and reminiscent of the original fighter, but nonetheless, the others all look downright jaw-dropping. This was another one of those collabs that nobody saw coming, but has become one of the most beloved amongOW2fans for the quality of skins on offer.
1Le Sserafim
The Girls Of Overwatch Receive A Stylish K-Pop Inspired Makeover
TheLe Sserafimevent included quite a few new cosmetics for players to get their hands on. While the reskins may not be as exciting, the five new alternative outfits added to the game are all a real feast for the eyes, looking just as stylish as the attire worn by the Korean girl group on which the event is based.
With baggy pants and cropped hoodies everywhere in sight, this event aimed to give the girls ofOverwatch 2a more casual fit for them to take onto the battlefield, resulting in some of the most stunning skins in the entire game. It’s actually an event that many fans have asked to see return, just so they can pick up these fashionable outfits, which is a testament to how well Blizzard designed them.
