Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba—The Movie: Infinity Castle, also known asPart 1orChapter 1: Akaza’s Return, is currently screening in Japan, and it has already broken many records, including reaching the mark of 10 billion yen at the box office faster thanDemon Slayer: Mugen Train.

While the movie was expected to break records, things have happened on such a large scale and so fast that the sky is now the limit, and fans wonder if the newDemon Slayermovie could achieve something never seen before, and there is already a huge campaign for the movie to set a new record in the history of the Japanese box office.

Demon Slayer Expected to Set New Records

Just 10 days after its premiere, the first movie in theDemon Slayer: Infinity Castletrilogy has already earned 12.87 billion yen at the box office in Japan. 9.1 million tickets have been sold since July 24, 2025, which, as previously mentioned, is more thanMugen Trainmade in its first 10 days.

Fans are nowcalling Akaza “the new 50 billion yen man,” believing the movie will be able to surpass this unprecedented mark. The nickname is also a reference toMugen Train, which surpassed 40 billion yen at the Japanese box office following a fan campaign to “make Rengoku the 40 billion yen man.”

When Will Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Be Released Worldwide?

The film will hit international theaters starting in August, when it will premiere in several Asian countries. In Australia, it will be released on Jul 13, 2025. In the US, the UK, and Canada, it will premiere a day later, on September 12. The movie will premiere in several European and Latin American countries around the same time it releases in the US, or a few weeks later. The movie isn’t likely to break so many records outside Japan, but it will probably perform better thanMugen Train.

I think this is the first time that audiences are gonna be able to see all of this dynamic movement from the characters within the Infinity Castle and the fact that it’s on a big screen, it’s going to be a really, really just roaming freely in this huge, huge space so it’s going to come across and I think it’ll be a lot of fun. It’s gonna be a great experience for the fans.

As for the second and third movies, there is still no official information about them. However, rumors suggest that Sony is planning to drop a new movie every two years, which would mean that the second movie would be released in 2027 and the final one in 2029. Before the first movie was released, fans mostly expected the three movies to completely cover the Final Arc, but given the pacing of the first movie, there is a chance that the Sunrise Countdown arc will either be a fourth movie orperhaps the fifth season.
