Sci-fi racerFAST Fusionwill be updated with a new Photo Mode on July 10, allowing racers to show off their favorite vehicles in style.FAST Fusionwas released on June 5 as a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title, providing players with a solid alternative toMario Kart World. Developed by Shin’en Multimedia,FAST Fusionis the fourth installment in theFASTseries of sci-fi racers.
FAST Fusionsets itself apart from other racers with its sophisticated customization system and anti-gravity tracks. The Switch 2 exclusive offers a wide variety of vehicles for players to choose from, thanks to its “Fusion Mode” mechanic, which allows racers to fuse various vehicles to formhundreds of potentialFAST Fusionship combinations. The game’s anti-grav tracks also boast alternate layouts for racers to explore, and withFAST Fusion’s Hyperjump feature encouraging players to jump over various obstacles, there are plenty of opportunities to strategize.
According to an exclusive report byNintendo Life, aFAST Fusionupdate to Version 1.4 will add a Photo Mode to the racer on July 10, along with a few glitch fixes. The new feature appears to have options similar to thePhoto Mode forMario Kart World, complete with camera zoom, tilt, and focus controls, as well as a vignette effect and customizable frames for each photo. The update also patches three main bugs: an issue that caused the wrong music to play in the Zenshoh Habitat track, a UI problem that caused the map for the Alpine Trust track to take up too much screen space, and a rare glitch that caused certain vehicles in higher leagues to hit invisible walls.
Released on June 26, thePure Update forFAST Fusionadded three new tracks to the game, as well as the “PURE” rendering mode for playing in either docked or handheld mode. The new render mode allows players to toggle upscaling on and off at 1440p docked and 1080p in handheld mode, a tool that may prove useful for aspiring race photographers looking to make the most out of the new Photo Mode.
Although Photo Modes are usually a welcome addition to any game, there seems to be a trend with developers waiting until after release to add them in a patch. For example, Gearbox Software revealed in June that their upcoming looter-shooterBorderlands 4will have a Photo Mode, but due to other gameplay mechanics taking precedence, its development was put on the back burner.
