Drag x Drive, the upcoming wheelchair basketball game for the Nintendo Switch 2, doesn’t appear to support local multiplayer. One of the more unique titles shown during the dedicated Switch 2 Direct stream in April,Drag x Drivewill task players with utilizing the console’s new mouse functionality to steer, speed up, and dunk, and its release isn’t too far away.

The Nintendo Switch 2 improves upon its predecessor in multiple ways, from graphical upgrades to new features. The Joy-Con 2 controllers have also seen a redesign, with the upcoming sports titleDrag x Drivebeing the first game to harness their mouse mode. In the 3v3 basketball game, players will need to use the unique functionality to maneuver around the court in a wheelchair, with online play opening up even more possibilities. Unfortunately, it looks like the Nintendo title may be missing a popular feature for those wanting to pick up the title with a friend or family member at home.

As spotted byEurogamer, the store page forDrag x Driveon the Switch 2’seShopdoesn’t list split-screen local multiplayer as an option. Rather, the title will support up to 12 players online and will only support one user per console, even if a second player brings their own pair of Joy-Cons. Ahead ofDrag x Drive’s August 14 launch date, players have taken to social media to show their interest and support in the unique title, though this lack of local multiplayer may put a damper on the game’s launch for some.
