Survivalist Challenges inRed Dead Redemptionmay not be the hardest in the game, but they are certainly the most time-consuming, since players will need to search for and collect an abundance of plants, herbs, and flowers. While Abigail Marston might not enjoy this bouquet of random herbs,a Legend of the Westcertainly will.

To complete all Survivalist Challenges inRed Dead Redemption, players are going to need to bring their wits and their patience, althougha revolver at the hip wouldn’t hurt. Listed below is an essential guide to complete the Survivalist Challenges in order.

Survivalist Challenges are made easier if players purchase Survivalist Maps from general store vendors like Herbert Moon in Armadillo, as this reveals the location of nearby plants for 20 minutes.

10Survivalist Challenge #1 – Collect 6 Wild Feverfew

Players will be able to find Wild Feverfew growing around thevicinity of Hennigan’s Stead and MacFarlane’s Ranch, so players should make a circular perimeter around these locations and look for the plant, which is a green plant covered in white flowers. Players should use a Survivalist Map in this area to make tracking all 6 far easier.

9Survivalist Challenge #2 – Collect 6 Desert Sage

Desert Sage is easily found in the far west of the New Austin map, where,from Gaptooth Breach to Rathskeller Fork, players will be able to find an abundance of Desert Sage. The plant itself is a green shrub with purple flowers, and can often be foundoff the horse tracksby cactus and other desert tracks, easily seen with the Survivalist Map.

8Survivalist Challenge #3 – Collect 4 Red Sage

Players will be able to collect Red Sagearound Rio Bravo and Fort Mercer, and this plant is often close to cactus and other dry plants. Red Sage is noted for growing near cacti with its red flowers, but players will need to be cautious of this area, which could have roaming wolves and cougars that will halt players in their tracks.

7Survivalist Challenge #4 – Collect 8 Prickly Pear

In order to find Prickly Pear, players must havecrossed into Mexico. After which, players will be able to venture to thesurrounding areas of Escalera in the west regionto find this plant. This is one of the most identifiable plants, as the Prickly Pear is simply a group of cacti with red flower tips that can be picked.

6Survivalist Challenge #5 – Collect 9 Woolly Blue Curl

For the Woolly Blue Curl, players will need totake a trip to Mexico, where the areabetween Perdido and Las Hermanaswill contain all the Woolly Blue Curl that players will need. This planet is noted for its tall purple stalks, and players will need to use a Survivalist Map to roam this area since they are in search of 9 of them.

5Survivalist Challenge #6 –Collect 8 Butterfly Weed

to collect Butterfly Weed, players will need to be in thenorth region of Diez Coronasin Mexico. This large desert section will have the plant that players are seeking, noted for its tall green stalk and yellow flowers. Stick to the road and look to the desert paths in search of this plant on the trail.

4Survivalist Challenge #7 – Collect 10 Hummingbird Sage Flowers

While players need to collect 10 Hummingbird Sage Flowers, they do have a rather generous spawn, andplayers can find themacross the entiresouthwest area of Manzanita Post and Tall Trees. Players will want to run through the forests in search of these plants, and they can be easily found by looking for their bright white stalks.

3Survivalist Challenge #8 – Collect 12 Prairie Poppies

Even more plants are required for the 8th Survivalist Challenge, where players are going to want to take their horse and ride to theGreat Plains between Beecher’s Hope and Blackwater. Prairie Poppies usually spawn in this area where the buffalo roam, and the plant itself is easily spotted as it has a bright yellow flower sticking out from its shrubs.

2Survivalist Challenge #9 – Collect 15 Golden Currant

Also extremely close to the Prairie Poppies is the Golden Currant, a plant that can be found in thewestern regions of the Great Plains, closer to Beecher’s Hopethan to Blackwater. Once in this expansive area, look around the perimeter of Beecher’s Hope’s outside fence, where the Golden Currant will usually grow, providing players with a planet with a yellow stalk.

1Survivalist Challenge #10 – Collect 10 Violet Snowdrop and 2 of Every Herb

The final Survivalist Challenge inRed Dead Redemptionmight be a tad time-consuming, as players will need to collect 10 Violet Snowdrops and 2 of every other plant. To collect 10 Violet Snowdrop plants, players will want to travel to thefurther north region of the map from Tall Trees and into the Cochinay mountains. This region contains the plants that players seek in the snowy fields, and the plant itself is hard to spot with its navy petals on a dark green bush.

After collecting Violet Snowdrop, players will need to return across the great plains of the map to collect every other plant found in the game, and a list of what they are and their locations can be found below:
