Capcom has just released new information about Sagat, the towering Muay Thai master who will beStreet Fighter 6’s next DLC combatant. Since its initial launch back in June 2023,Street Fighter 6has been expanding its roster with a mix of returning World Warriors and special guest characters, with the most recent DLC addition being the Capoeira battler Elena earlier this month.
Street Fighter 6will soon begin its third wave of DLC, and the first new challenger is one that longtime fans of the series will immediately recognize. Sagat was introduced as the final boss of the originalStreet Fighterin 1987 and has returned as a playable character inevery subsequentStreet Fighterentry. Defined by his imposing size and powerful Muay Thai fighting style, Sagat has alternated between villain and anti-hero in his never-ending quest to prove himself as the strongest martial artist in the world. While he was initially absent from the baseStreet Fighter 6roster, Sagat will finally make his return to the series soon.
Capcom confirmed the character’s official release date of August 5 in a new press announcement that shed further light onStreet Fighter 6’s version of Sagat. As reported byGematsu, Sagat is now known as the “emperor of Muay Thai,” and players will be able to visit him in his home country of Thailand to learn his devastating moves inStreet Fighter 6’s World Tour mode. A newly-releasedStreet Fighter 6trailer highlights this as the player character witnesses Sagat plant a massive tree back into the ground before shattering it with his dreaded Tiger Uppercut.

In honor of Sagat’s impending arrival,Street Fighter 6will release a special Sagat Arrives Fighting Pass on July 4, filled with Sagat-themed content likenew EX colors for Ryu and Ken. Sagat isn’t the only new content coming on August 5 either, asStreet Fighter 6is also launching its Outfit 4 update on that day, containing alternate swimwear costumes for Cammy, Luke, Chun-Li, Manon, Jamie, Kimberly, and A.K.I. Beach-inspired skins for the rest of theStreet Fighter 6will be released on a later, unconfirmed date.
Meanwhile, the rest ofStreet Fighter 6’s Year 3 DLCwill consist of the pyrokinetic CIA agent Crimson Viper sometime this Autumn, the grappler Alex in Early Spring 2026, and the enigmatic telekinesis user Ingrid in Late Spring 2026. For now, though,Street Fighter 6players should get ready to kickbox their way through the competition as Sagat, the mighty World Warrior who is stepping back into the arena in August.
