Vecna’s Weird Appearance in Stranger Things Season 5 Has Fans Baffled
Over on Reddit,Stranger Thingsfans have been discussingVecna’s appearance in season 5’s newest teaser, and to say that they aren’t best pleased with it would be an understatement. Not only do many think the monster is now weirder looking than ever before (and that’s saying something), but they are also calling the humanoid “the Grinch” due to its unusual pear-shaped body. Aren’t “monsters” meant to look scary? According to fans, Vecna may actually provide some comedic relief.
“I cannot take him seriously,” said the Reddit poster. “He’s way more the Jim Carey version than the new cartoon,” replied anotherStranger Thingsfan, as another commenter echoed how they felt about Vecna’s design, stating, “Compared to the mind flayer, Vecna is really not all that.” One humorous fan believes that due to Vecna being exposed to “tubular 80s jams' in season 2, its weakness has now been found out and has done a number on its body.
However, seriously speaking, the reason thatVecna probably looks so different now is due to the massive showdown in season 4’s finale, where Steve, Nancy, and Robin set Vecna on fire in the Upside Down, as well as being blasted with a shotgun, sending him flying out of the window. With his savage looking and massive clawed hand, it seems as though Vecna is truly on the war path this time around and willing to do a lot of damage.
