Developer GSC Game World has released the patch notes forSTALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s update 1.5.1, and despite being smaller in scale, the patch marks the end of the chaos hour.STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobylis a first-person shooter that was released in November 2024, after years of significant delays. Serving as the fourth main game in the survival horror series and the first entry in 15 years since 2009’sCall of Pripyat, the sequel was a hit with the fanbase, selling one million copies within two days of its release.

This month’s smaller patch followsSTALKER 2’s massive update 1.5, which was released in June, bringing guns and looting to the Zone. Players also witnessed mutant loot mechanics through the previous update, as well as new weapons, A-Life improvements, and stability fixes. Since its delayed but successful launch, STALKER 2 has been steadily releasing updates to make gameplay more seamless and remove some of its initial technical issues.

NPCs remained a highlight of the update, with several fixes addressing issues like NPCs getting stuck during patrolling and refusing to go to shelter in offline mode during Emission. Contrasting some players deemingSTALKER 2’s A-Life 2.0 system broken, the patch has also fixed an issue regarding A-Life mutants and NPCs spawning in restricted areas.

Additionally, following theSTALKER 2developers' promise of more accessible mod support, patch 1.5.1 also introduces a new Zone Kit. The MOD SDK update supports content from the recent patch, and players need only update the game to help reduce the chances of game instability for modifications. The player base was generally pleased with the patch, and one fan thanked the team for making the best game of its genre, while noting more wishlist features from the community, including a fix for hardcoded rebinds.
