Posting on Steam, the dev team revealed what players should expect content-wise after Year One, followingSpace Marine 2’s Patch 8 update, which also rolled out the new Siege Mode in tandem. It was confirmed that a second year of both free and DLC content was on the way, which will be included in a new yearly season pass, and players can expect fresh PvE missions, enemies, weapons, and more. A large-scale 10.0 update is also planned for September, designed to celebrate the game’s first anniversary, but this means a new mode will be pushed back.

Space Marine 2’s PvP mode will be delayed from the 9.0 patch to the big 10.0 update, but the team revealed the mode will feature a new map, it will oppose two sides, and new Chaos armors will be added. If that wasn’t enough content to populate the massive 10.0 update, a new melee weapon, the Power Axe, will be added, joining the established list ofSpace Marine 2’s best melee weapons.

Players warmly received the devs’ update, and one fan spoke for the rest of the player base to say how proud they were of the team for makingSpace Marine 2“the best game of its genre.” In the interim, players are more than happy to lose several hours to the title’s new Siege Mode.
