This article contains spoilers from theSolo Levelingmanhwa.

One of the most interesting plot elements inSolo Levelingis the existence of the System. Designed with a video game interface, the system easily pulled countless anime and manhwa fans into Sung Jin-Woo’s zero-to-godhood story. Seasons 1 and 2 revealed the relevant functions of the System, but the truth about its original purpose, as well as the identities of the old and new architects, could be revealed inSolo LevelingSeason 3.

Without the mysterious system, there would be no Sung Jin-Woo. And without the architect, there would be no system in the first place. However, that should be false in Solo Leveling Season 3, as the System might debut a new architect, replacing the old one for good for some reason. Eagle-eyed fans have knownKandiaru as the original creator of the system, but a new one is set to appear next season, as revealed in the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Kandiaru Is the Original Architect of the System

The True Purpose Behind Kandiaru’s System

To this day, many fans continue to miss the identity of the System’s architect in Solo Leveling, both in the anime and the manhwa. After all, neither medium specified Kandiaru as the architect of the system. In fact, the name Kandiaru can only be spotted in the description of the quest reward for theCourage of the Weak secret quest, which Jin-Woo cleared in Solo Leveling Season 1.

According to the reward’s description, the great spellcaster Kandiaru has granted Jin-Woo his personal blessing, ensuring he will remain strong and healthy all his life. It’s one of the reasonswhy Jin-Woo’s body changedfrom thin to toned, in addition to the results of his daily quests and status effects. In other words, Kandiaru allowed the System to steer Jin-Woo’s growth and prevent him from dying at all costs as its lone player.

But behind the video game interface of the system, Kandiaru only wanted to secure a perfectvessel for the Shadow Monarch Ashborn. In exchange for a chance at immortality, the mage Kandiaru designed the system to find Ashborn’s human vessel and descend into the human world. They eventually found Jin-Woo, but Kandiaru originally refused to accept the E-rank hunter if it wasn’t for Ashborn’s preferences.

Sung Jin-Woo Will Devour the System

Kandiaru Will Be Locked Out of the System

While Solo Leveling Seasons 1 and 2 showed Jin-Woo’s rise to power, Season 3 is expected to bring him back to the Double Dungeon where it all began.Upon reaching level 100 on Jeju Island, it’s about time for Jin-Woo to revisit his traumatizing experience with the giant statues in the Cartenon Temple and settle the score. It’s one of the most widely anticipated moments in Solo Leveling, especially for manhwa readers who have been waiting for Jin-Woo’s rematch with Kandiaru and his puppet statues for the longest time.

As revealed in the Solo Leveling manhwa, Sung Jin-Woo will return to the Cartenon Temple in the Double Dungeon story arc after heestablishes his own guild, Ahjin. At this point, he will discover the hidden boss of the Double Dungeon, Kandiaru, who is also the architect of the System. While Kandiaru will try to accomplish his original plan, the Shadow Monarch Ashborn will betray him by choosing to transfer his powers to Jin-Woo instead of taking over the hunter’s body.

“Are you a monster?"—Sung Jin-Woo to Kandiaru

It will be a major upset for Kandiaru, as the Shadow Monarch will also lock him out of the system he created and designed. Naturally, Kandiaru will attempt to strip Jin-Woo of his powers by manually destroying the System, but it will be too late. Unfortunately for Kandiaru,Jin-Woo will emerge as the system’s new owner. Even if the original creator were to be killed, the system that’s already in place would not be affected. Make no mistake, though, the Kandiaru whom Jin-Woo will defeat is not his real body, meaning he’ll live even after this encounter.

The System Will Be Automatically Deleted

Why Jin-Woo No Longer Needs the System

As the plot unfolds in Solo Leveling, it’s inevitable that Jin-Woo will continue to grow stronger. Manhwa fans know he’ll reach new heights, especially if he receives thefull power of the Shadow Monarchlater on. By the time he receives this power, it’s inevitable for the system to cease to exist. There would be no need for daily quests or random instance quests, as the system will finally serve its purpose.

That said, fans should expect to see the System fade away or be deleted inSolo Leveling, as long as the anime stays faithful to the source material. Whether Season 3 covers this scenario is still unconfirmed, considering there’s little to no detail about the number of story arcs it will adapt from the manhwa. Those who want to see what happens to Jin-Woo and the System next could simply turn to the manhwa.
