What Are Magic Beasts?

Powerful Monsters With an Insatiable Bloodlust for Humanity

Magic Beasts, also known as the Denizens of Chaos, are magical monsters residing in dungeons who, like the hunters, are further classified into different groups based on their ranks and origin. Every type of magic beast comes from a different background and possesses unique powers that are sometimes exclusive to their group.

Destroy everything. That is the only mission bestowed upon us.

Since each of them can be as strong asan average S-rankeror as weak as the worst E-ranker, they pose different levels of threat. Some of these magic beasts are called boss monsters, as they are the strongest beasts in the entire dungeon. To clear a Gate, hunters must defeat the dungeon boss. Irrespective of their type or rank, it has been observed that almost all magic beasts have an insatiable bloodlust for humanity. It has been hinted on a few occasions that they are programmed this way but the true objectives of such a bizarre system remain unclear.

So far,a Gate typically has somewhat weaker magic beastsled by a strong boss who ensures that his forces defend the dungeon and kill anyone who approaches them. With this basic arrangement remaining the same, Solo Leveling season 3 is all set to subvert expectations by introducing a new kind of Gate filled with some of the most dangerous magic beasts introduced in the series so far.

The Man-Eating Humanoid Magic Beasts

Japanese S-rank Dungeon Break Will Wreak Havoc on the World

In the Japan Crisis arc, an S-rank Gate will appear in Tokyo, creating panic and chaos in the city. The Japanese government will assemble a ragtag team of top S-rankers from the country to tackle the challenge. However since Japan already lost some of its strongest hunters during the Jeju Island raid, the new team will not be strong enough to handle such a crisis on their own.

In order to bolster their forces, Japan will approach Russia’s S-rank mage hunter, specializing in barrier magic, to try and ensure that a dungeon break does not occur. But all these efforts will eventually fail to stop the Gate from breaking, following which man-eating humanoid magic beasts known as Giants will rush into the real world. As tall as some buildings in Tokyo, this race of monsters will be ruthless against humans and will not think twice before wreaking havoc on the city.

As mentioned earlier, in most Gates the dungeon boss is just one. While this is true for Japan’s S-rank Gate too, it is noteworthy that each of the countless Giants that will emerge from it is the dungeon boss of a top-tier A-rank Gate. So, instead of fighting a horde of somewhat weaker monsters before defeating the boss, the hunters facing the crisis in Japan will have to fight a horde of frightening dungeon bosses. What makes things truly terrifying is the fact that the Giants are S-rank magic beasts, each of whom is asstrong as an average S-rank hunter.

Even the best Japanese hunters, along with Russia’s Yuri Orloff, will struggle to defeat even one of these Giants. Despite their tall height, they are capable of moving at blinding speed and attacking in ways that defy common sense or logic. Even among them, there will be a few anomalies known as the Supergiants, who can kill an S-rank hunter with a single strike.

The Giants will be led by Legia, also known as the King of Giants, whose immense strength will rival or, in some cases, surpass the National Level Hunters. Legia being the hidden boss will remain in the dungeon waiting for the right opportunity to trick humanity and unleash his wrath upon them. Even without him leaving the Dungeon, the Giants would still appear impossible to stop.

Once a horde of such monsters isunleashed in Tokyo following the dungeon break, the city will be vulnerable, with no one in Japan capable of helping the country. They will start destroying the city ruthlessly while eating any man they cross paths with. With Japan thrown into chaos, the government will be forced to seek help from outside the country or risk extinction.

Such will be the scale of the destruction unleashed by this new type of magic beast whose superhuman powers will lay waste to entire cities. The Giants will go on to reshape the human world and send a strong message that humanity’s future is dark if they fail to see the true nature of the threat to their existence.
