I feel like I’m losing my humanity the stronger I get! — Jinwoo
Earlier today, a new report from Sony confirmed thatSolo Leveling is now the most-watched anime in the history of Crunchyroll, as of March 2025. This might sound unbelievable, especially since the anime only has 25 episodes right now, but it is absolutely true and this gap seems like one that will keep on growing with time, since Solo Leveling is nowhere near its end. While the anime hitting new heights of popularity is great, fans know very well that this doesn’t mean it is actually the most loved anime, or that it is the best out there.
Fans Believe Solo Leveling Doesn’t Compare To Frieren And The OG Shonen
Frieren Offers A Higher Quality Of Writing
It is no surprise to know thatFrierenandSolo Levelingfans have been at odds with each other long before the latter even swept all awards at Crunchyroll’s recent event. While Solo Leveling keeps attracting more attention due to its incredibly exciting battles, fans know very well thatFrieren offers a level of writing and storytellingthat Solo Leveling simply cannot match. In the eyes of most, Frieren is a far better anime, when it comes to the series that have been launched recently.
Of course, there are also others, such as the Big Three Shonen series, and at the same time, some others like Dragon Ball, that fans firmly believe are far better and offer a much greater experience.
At the end of the day, these are all opinions. Solo Leveling is great at what it does, but it cannot be denied that in terms of writing,Frieren offers a more complex experience.
