Quick Links
Just like the three that came before it,the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansionis broken up into multiple packs. As a result,Pokemon TCG Pocketplayers will need to decide whether they want to open Lugia packs or Ho-Oh packs, with each containing its fair share of exclusive cards.
Over time, players will likely end up opening both packs in equal measure, but, to begin with, most will probably want to prioritize one pack over the other. The following guide aims to make it easier to decide whether to open Ho-Oh or Lugia packs first inPokemon TCG Pocket.
All Lugia Pack ex Cards
When trying to decide whether to open Lugia or Ho-Oh packs,Pokemon TCG Pocketplayers will want to focus on the ex cards that each pack contains and how well those cards synergize with their existing decks and playstyle. Most will likely deduce thatHo-Oh packs are better than Lugia packsdue to how well Crobat ex and Umbreon ex pair with some of the existing cards. And, while Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex are clearly designed with each other in mind, the former can be very useful without the latter. Its ability to generate three energy per turn from three colorless energy means that it can work well with colorless attackers orhard-hitting Dragon-types like Genetic Appex Dragonite.
When trying to decide whether to open Lugia or Ho-Oh packs first, it can help to draw up a ranked list of the cards that you want most. It’s also a good idea to keep an eye on how many of the rare cards from a pack you’ve already pulled, as this can make it a lot easier to know when it’s best to switch.
All Exclusive Cards in Lugia and Ho-Oh Packs
Both Ho-Oh and Lugia packs contain 105 exclusive cards. In addition to these, there are 31 cards that can appear in both, for a total of 136 potential cards in each pack. It’s worth noting, though, that whilethe gold crown variants of Ho-Oh ex and Lugia excan technically appear in both packs via the fifth slot, players are far more likely to pull them from their respective packs, so anyone who is chasing those two cards specifically should definitely keep this in mind.
