Death Stranding 2: On the Beachgives you much more agency during cutscenes with the addition of dialogue options, but sometimes the game gives you a few too many choices. When you first meetCharlie Mannequin—Drawbridge’s patron—inDeath Stranding 2, he asks you if you’d prefer him to use the voice of one of Sam’s friends from the first game.
As if the talking mannequin wasn’t enough, this four-way decision has stressed out a bunch ofDeath Stranding 2players who are still adjusting to the new Australian climate. It seems like a really important choice, so should you go withDeadman, Heartman, Lockne, or Die-Hardman when speaking to Charlie inDeath Stranding 2?
Charlie Mannequin Choice Outcomes in Death Stranding 2
Charlie the mannequin gives you the choice between four of Sam’s allies inDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach.Deadman,Heartman,Lockne, andDie-Hardmanare your four options. You can choose any of them to get a preview of what Charlie’s new form will look like before locking your decision in, so take the time to check all four of them out before making your final answer.
Ultimately, this decision does not matterbecause Charlie will only accept one answer: Die-Hardman. The other three options are just fun little Easter Eggs, and Charlie will give a quick excuse if you attempt to choose Deadman, Heartman, or Lockne before nudging you toward the right decision. This is becauseTommy Earl Jenkins, the voice of Die-Hardman in the originalDeath Stranding, voices Charlie inDeath Stranding 2. Thisdialogue choiceis just a fakeout to add some lighthearted fun to Charlie’s introduction.
There’s no way to select anyone other than Die-Hardman, and you won’t miss anything if you choose him straight away and ignore the other options, either. Don’t worry about it too much. You’ll be hearing a lot from Charlie as you make your way across the Australian continent and expand the Chiral Network, so get used to hearing Tommy Earl Jenkins' voice. A familiar voice is a nice thing to have in an unfamiliar place. Still, not all the characters are familiar; you’ll encounter many new faces as you connect Australia to the Chiral Network, includingHololive’s Usada Pekora.
