Exploring Skull Rock Island is possible by triggering the Shadows on the Wall quest inDisney Dreamlight Valley. You will finally meet the mysterious shadow inside and help it move from one side to the other using the lanterns' light.
How To Trigger Shadows On The Wall Quest In DDV - Disney Dreamlight Valley
Upon completing A Forgotten Name and unlocking The Forgotten as a villager, you will trigger the Shadows on the Wall quest inDDV. This quest will unlock the Skull Rock, where you and The Forgotten will enter to explore inside and witness a Pixie Dust Orb and a mysterious shadow. Head to the upper floor and speak with The Forgotten, who mentions a closed gate and asks for help to open it. On the same floor, approach the edge and dig out a broken lantern, thenhand it over to the character inDDV.
After deciding to fix the broken lanterns, Dreamers must collect a couple of materials.

As you already have one, fish out the remaining two from the waters near the ship across the Skull Rock entrance.

Combine Sand and Coal Ore at a Crafting Table.
Mine gems nodes in Vitalys Mines, Sunlit Plateau.
Pixie Dust Orbs x3
Follow the Orbs found inForgotten Lands, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust,and catch the Pixie Dust Orbs inDDV.
Onceall materials are gathered inDisney Dreamlight Valley, use a Crafting Table to make three Pixie Dust Lanterns and place them on the Rope Winches. Placing all three lanterns allows players to change the direction of the light to try and find the mysterious shadow.
How To Trap The Shadow In DDV - Disney Dreamlight Valley
After catching a glimpse of the mysterious shadow,Dreamers must shine all three lanterns on the same wall to trap the shadow inDisney Dreamlight Valley. Rotate the left, middle, and right lanterns to shine on the wall in the middle next to some crates and barrels.
Next, speak with the mysterious shadow, who asks players to follow it. However, keep in mind that the shadow can’t move on its own, so you need to rotate the lanterns in different directions to help the shadow move.The easiest method is to head to the left lantern and shine it on the wheel next to the closed gate to help the shadow move there.
