Several leakers in theGenshin Impactcommunity have made the rather surprising claim of Neuvillette receiving a new skin during Nod-Krai. As one of the most popular 5-Star characters inGenshin Impact, Neuvillette has an unshakable place in the meta and a formidable number of fans. Neuvillette and Furina were some of the biggest stars of the Fontaine era, while the Natlan era gave them plenty of new teammates to work with – Escoffier, Xilonen, and Citlali being notable examples.
However, when it comes tocosmetics inGenshin Impact, the developers have been notoriously inconsistent. Throughout the game’s entire lifespan, there has only been one 5-Star Character Outfit and one Character Outfit for 5-Star Males in total. While one might make the argument that HoYoverse prioritized cosmetics for popular characters only, it took until 2025 for Xiangling and Bennett to get their alternate outfits. From a volume standpoint,Genshin Impactalso releases no more than five skins per year – once during the Lantern Rite, and once during the Summer Event. This means that very fewGenshin Impactcharacters ever receive an alternate outfit, and those that do aren’t guaranteed to be meta or popular.
Taking this into account, when Foul and Shirai Nokochanbacked Hoshino’s leakthat Neuvillette would receive a new skin, it came as a shock to most of theGenshin Impactcommunity. Before players jump to any conclusions, it’s best to examine the known facts and rumors. Multiple leakers likely saw concept art of a new outfit forNeuvillette inGenshin Impact. The upcoming winter set of skins is intended for male characters. There is no guarantee that these skins will be for Liyue characters, as seen with Ayaka and Lisa in 2023.
Genshin Impact Could Be Giving Neuvillette a New Skin in Nod-Krai
As such, there are two potential outcomes for this leak: either Neuvillette will receive a new outfit at the expense of the Lantern Rite in 2026, or the concept art relates to a collaboration outfit that won’t make its way to the game.Zhongli inGenshin Impactwas famously rumored to receive a new skin in Natlan, but this ended up being a collaboration with Sanxingdui Museum instead. Therefore, it’s important to keep in mind that leakers rarely have context behind the material that they obtain. Players should thus temper their expectations until Version 6.2 at the earliest.
A more recent set of cosmetics will arrive in Version 5.8, which will introduce alternate outfits for Bennett and Yelan. While Yelan’s skin remains a mystery,Bennett’s new skin inGenshin Impactwas leaked at the start of beta testing. It has a distinct Natlanese design, and players will be able to obtain it for free by completing the Summer Event in Version 5.8. The upcoming update is set to launch on Jun 18, 2025, while Nod-Krai will open its doors on June 07, 2025.
