Rodriguez-Marquette played Joan’s love interest and friend, artist Adam Rove. His other TV credits include the dark dramaHuffandthe intense HBO comedyBarry. He wasn’t cast after his audition, and when he seemed like the right fit, he toldThe Hollywood Reporterin 2024 that it took eight months to win the role. Jennifer Salke, the Amazon MGM Studios Chief, shared with the publication:
“he has the intelligence and the complexity of the character. He was delivering so many layers of the performance. Jack Reacher is sometimes a character of few words, but you can never feel like he’s got nothing going on. I always feel like a really rich inner life emanates from Alan as an actor.”
