While its current player momentum is significant, the game’s early reviews are somewhat mixed. Over on the Xbox Store,Mecha Breakholds a 3.5-star rating as of July 12, based on over 1,000 player impressions. Meanwhile, its Steam user reviews are in the “Mixed” category, based on over 16,000 of them. Looking at the actual contents of these reviews, early adopters ofMecha Breakhave largely praised the game’s combat and visuals, as well as its in-depth customization options and overall accessibility. However, the game is also being criticized for its aggressive monetization, reflected in its high-priced skin bundles and a grindy battle pass encouraging the purchase of its premium variant. Some early adopters have also criticized the near-complete focus on PvP, to the point that the game doesn’t even have a pure PvE mode, just something akin to a PvPvE experience.
