The popular Steam co-op gamePEAKrecently had a very successful launch and is already planning for the future. Developers Aggro Crab and Landfall Games take the time to thank the gaming community for its support and pave the way for future content. It’s encouraging to hear that smaller indie games can still exceed expectations in the current climate ofDeath StrandingandElden Ringsequels, as budding climbers continue to rave aboutPEAK.
Aggro Crab and Landfall are the studios behind the successful co-op. American developer Aggro Crab previously released the nautical soulslike and action-adventureAnother Crab’s Treasurelast year, which outperformed expectations. On the other hand, Swedish studio Landfall has a penchant for April Fool’s Day jokes, launching titles like the popularContent Warning,Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, andClustertruck. UnlikeContent Warning’s scary monsters, Sandfall’s new climbing game with Aggro Crab is a light-hearted and wholesome adventure, and it has become an instant hit.
Posting on Steam, Aggro Crab and Landfall (nicknamed Landcrab) expressed their gratitude to the community for itsPEAKsupport, noting that the social media clips and streams were keeping them laughing. Plans for the future were then addressed, despite being in the “very early stages,” but there were a few tidbits to share. The team confirmed localization would be coming soon, and more possible updates may range from quality of life features to new content. No number ofPEAK’s beginner tips and trickswill save players from pesky bugs, which is why the devs are also “slowly getting through” some of the fixes, addressing common reports such as disconnection bugs, audio issues, crashes, and generalized performance and optimization concerns.
PEAK Devs Confirm Localization and More Updates Coming Soon
PEAKblew up on Steam during its launch, selling two million copies in only nine days, and the player base has shown nothing but support for the game’s future. One of the go-to accolades involved callingPEAKa “peak” game, and several players noted the devs’ “deserved success” after creating a “fun and replayable” experience. Furthermore, and included in the devs’ Steam post, players will be able to show their support for the game in another way soon, as the team is cooking up new merch ideas as well.
Based on its popularity and replayability factor,PEAKhas certainly become one of thebest co-op games to play with friends, joining the likes ofChained Together,Surmount: A Mountain Climbing Adventure, andTotally Reliable Delivery Service, which sounds like something Landfall would produce, but it’s by We’re Five Games. With localization on the way forPEAK, it’s predicted that its success will continue to spread across the globe and climb into more gamers’ hearts.
