During the July 2025 Pokemon Presents,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetsurprised fans by announcing Shiny Tera Raids featuring the Treasures of Ruin. However,Pokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers cannot catch them normally, but instead must collectively defeat each Tera raid boss 1 million times before they will be distributed as Mystery Gifts shortly after.
Known collectively as the Treasures of Ruin, the quartet of Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu areLegendary Pokemon that were sealed away inside shrinesthat could only be opened by pulling out stakes scattered throughout Paldea. Each member of the Treasures of Ruin has the Dark-type as its main type, with different secondary types each. Each of these Pokemon also has the signature move Ruination, which deals damage equal to half the target’s current HP. While the Treasures of Ruin are powerful, they were also nerfed shortly afterPokemon Scarlet and Violetlaunched, as each saw small decreases in their base stat total.
Unlikeprevious Legendary Tera Raids like Shiny Rayquaza,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will not be able to catch the Shiny Treasures of Ruin easily. During the July 2025 Pokemon Presents, The Pokemon Company confirmed that the Shiny Treasures of Ruin will appear in Five-Star Tera Raid dens, starting with Shiny Wo-Chien on Tuesday, July 22, at 8:00 PM Eastern and ending on Sunday, August 3, at 7:59 PM Eastern.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Shiny Treasures Of Ruin Tera Raid Dates (August 01, 2025)
After collectively defeating each member of the Shiny Treasures of Ruin one million times during the respective Tera raid window, it will be available as a Mystery Gift distribution on the ensuing Friday after the raid ends, meaning August 5 in Wo-Chien’s case. Shiny Chien-Pao, Shiny Ting-Lu, and Shiny Chi-Yu will appear in Five-Star Tera Raids for two weeks in succession afterward. For every 100,000 victories after the first million needed to unlock the Shiny Treasures of Ruin distributions, additional Tera Shards will be offered via Mystery Gift.
Each of these Shiny Raid Pokemon will have its non-Dark secondary type as its Tera type, such as Wo-Chien being a Tera-Grass type. Since Five-Star Tera Raid bosses are fixed to level 75,strong Fire-type Pokemon at level 100like Incineroar and Blaziken are recommended against Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao. Likewise, Water or Fighting-type Pokemon will come in handy against Ting-Lu and Chi-Yu.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers must stay connected to the Internet for their contributions to count.
