Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers club together to form solo strategies to counteract Baxcalibur the Unrivaled, with creatures like Orthworm and Avalugg stepping into the spotlight. The strategies thatPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers crafted each focused on using bulky critters and the move Body Press to deal significant damage to Baxcalibur.
Known as the Ice Dragon Pokemon, Baxcalibur is the pseudo-legendary monster ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Baxcalibur is the final form of Frigibax and Arctibax, and is normally a Dragon and Ice dual-type Pokemon. Throughout late June,Baxcalibur will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid Densthroughout the Paldea region, with high HP and physical attack stats. Coupled with its Ice-Tera typing, Baxcalibur the Unrivaled starts the battle by using Swords Dance, and regularly uses the moves Glaive Rush, Icicle Crash, Earthquake, and Crunch to deal high damage to its opponents. Baxcalibur will also reset its foes' stats three times at set intervals to prolong the fight.
To counteract the latest Tera Raid challenge inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers developed strategies thatrevolved around critters with high physical defenseand a specific move to hit Baxcalibur hard. On the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit, Reddit user TranzitBusRouteB suggested how Pokemon like Orthworm and Avalugg could use their high defense stats to bolster their offensive capabilities. This is done by using the Fighting-type attack Body Press, which is calculated via the user’s defense stat and takes advantage of Baxcalibur’s Ice-type weakness against Fighting attacks. TranzitBusRouteB recommended an Avalugg build with the moves Iron Defense, Body Press, Chilling Water, and Recover to counter Baxcalibur’s potent attacks. Although Orthworm can heal itself with its Earth Eater ability anytime Baxcalibur uses Earthquake, Avalugg’s higher base defense statistic makes it a viable option for higher Body Press damage.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trainers Share Ways To Beat Baxcalibur Tera Raid With Defensive Monsters
TranzitBusRouteB posted a meme in a screenshot to further emphasize their point. In response, otherPokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers shared the builds they used to beat Baxcalibur with the aid of NPC trainer partners that had Pokemon with the Intimidate ability to cut down Baxcalibur’s attack stat. While Zamazenta was also recommended as a popular choice for Body Press builds, some trainers suggestedthe Steel and Dragon monster Archaludon, as its Stamina ability adds to its physical defense stat anytime it’s hit by an attack.
Each suggestion alsoused the Fighting-typeas their main Tera type to boost the damage of Body Press and eliminate any weaknesses to Baxcalibur’s attacks. However,Pokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers have until June 29 to battle and capture Baxcalibur the Unrivaled.
