Pokemon GOhas announced that Dynamax Latios and Dynamax Latias are making their debut during an upcoming Max Battle weekend event. Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon have become increasingly more popular inPokemon GO, and the game has hinted at some major events for the rest of its Delightful Days season.

Although Max Battles arrived inPokemon GOin 2024, it wasn’t until January 2025 thatLegendary Dynamax Pokemondebuted in the AR game. First came the Kanto bird trio with Dynamax Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos starring in five-star Max combats. More recently, during the Might and Mastery season,Pokemon GOdebuted Dynamax Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. Now, yet another popular set of Legendaries is coming later in July.

Pokemon GOhas confirmed a Max Battle Weekend event featuring the release of Dynamax Latios and Dynamax Latias. The event will take place from Saturday, July 26 to Sunday, July 27. Players will be able to challenge the Legendary Hoenn duo in five-star Max Battles with a chance of encountering their shiny variants. During the event, Power Spots will refresh more frequently on the map, and players will be able to collect eight times more Max Particles. The distance required to receive Max Particles will be reduced to a quarter, and its collection limit will increase to 1,600. Finally, from July 21 to July 27, the amount of particles needed tounlock and level up Max Moveswill go down by a quarter.

Dynamax Eon Max Battle Weekend Ultra Box

Some days before the event, on July 21, players will receive a Timed Research opportunity that grants an encounter with Dynamax Gastly. According to the developers, this Pokemon will be particularly useful for defeating Dynamax Latios and Latias. Other Timed Research task rewards include Gastly Candy, Max Particles, and more. A special Max Battle Weekend Ultra Box will also be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store for $9.99, which gives fans seven Max Particle Packs and one extraPokemon GOMax Mushroom.

There are several Max Battle events planned for the remainder of the Delightful Days season. Dynamax Latios and Latias' debuts come afterPokemon GOannounced a Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day, which is scheduled for July 19. Moreover,Pokemon GOrecently revealed GO Fest 2025: Max Finale, a big two-day event happening in late August. Many fans suspect that the Gen 8 Legendary Pokemon Eternatus could finally make itsPokemon GOdebut, perhaps in its Eternamax form.
