Pokemon GOhas announced that Toedscool will make its in-game debut as part of a new Adventure Week event scheduled for late July. In recent months,Pokemon GOhas consistently been releasing Gen 9 critters, and more unique debuts are expected to happen later this year.
As its Delightful Days season continues,Pokemon GOis set to hold several events in July. Some major debuts are also scheduled, including the Dynamax forms of Latios and Latias.Pokemon GOrecently added Tastugirito the one-star Raids as well, though its variants are region-locked. Now, the developers have confirmed that another well-known Gen 9 critter will make itsPokemon GOdebut this season.
Pokemon GOhas confirmed that its next Adventure Week event will run from Tuesday, July 29, to Sunday, August 3. The event will feature the release of the Gen 9 monster Toedscool and its evolution, Toedscruel. Players will be able to evolve Toedscool using 50 Candy. During Adventure Week, fans will receive double the XP for catching Pokemon, and standard Incense will last for two hours. Additionally, depending on the area, certain monsters will spawn more frequently in the wild. For example, in city zones, fans will encounter Pokemon like Sizzlipede and Trubbish more often, while areas near mountains will increase the spawns of Rufflet and Hippopotas. Finally, for the first time in the game, players will have a chance tocatch Wiglett inPokemon GOin its shiny form.
Toedscool is a Ground/Grass dual-type Pokemon that was first introduced inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. At first, many players thought that it was a regional form of the Gen 1 monster Tentacool. However, while they look very similar,Toedscool and Tentacool are entirely different species. Regardless, Toedscool’s adorable design has caused it to gain popularity among fans. Now,Pokemon GO’s upcoming Adventure Week will let players encounter Toedscool more frequently in forests and grassland areas. The event will also add themed Research Tasks that reward Rare Candy, Stardust, and more. A new Timed Research will be available as well, granting players an Incense and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
Pokemon GOhas added multiple Gen 9 monsters in 2025. Starting with the debuts of Shroodle and Fidough in January, and followed by Tinkatink, Kingambit, and Tatsugiri in April, May, and July, respectively. However,Pokemon GOcould debut moreScarlet and VioletPokemonlater this year, as recent official artwork teased the release of Paradox Pokemon.
