The massively popular mobile game developed by Niantic features a wide variety of ways for players to gauge their in-game captures, with multiple different stats to measure a Pokemon.Pokemon GOfeatures Attack, Defense, and HP as its three major stats for all of its in-game creatures, with Combat Power working as a combined measure of a Pokemon’s strength. However, one popular element of a Pokemon is much easier to discern.
Shiny Pokemon are some of the most elusive types of creatures in anyPokemongame, especially the Niantic mobile game.Shiny Pokemon are extremely rareinPokemon GOin normal circumstances, with the alternative appearances boasting outlandish odds to find one.Pokemon GOdoes, however, give fans a chance to more easily catch Shiny Pokemon with its many spotlight Pokemon events, like Community Days. Now, one Pokemon fan is sharing their recent capture of a Shiny Legendary Pokemon with some shocking stats.
Reddit user tdubose91 shared their astoundingly bad capture to thePokemon GOsubreddit. The user showed off ashiny Galarian Moltres they had recently capturedinPokemon GO, only to reveal that the Pokemon sports near-minimum numbers in all three main statistics. The post even reveals that thePokemon GOplayer had paid a hefty sum to capture the Moltres, using 60 Ultra Balls just to capture the underwhelming Legendary Bird. The bad luck streak extends even further for the Galarian Moltres encounter, only being the player’s third Galarian Pokemon encounter in the game.
The unfortunate Galarian Moltres saw both a plethora of jokes about the Pokemon and some interesting suggestions. One user suggested that the Moltres could be prime Lucky Trade bait, suggesting they could trade it with a friend to potentially trigger the “Lucky” boost. Some fans pointed out thatBottle Caps could be usefulfor the Moltres, with one even saying that maxing out the Moltres' Defense and HP could make it a viable option. The poorPokemon GOstats also saw fans suggesting that the user should transfer it toPokemon Hometo be used inPokemon’s main-series games.
Pokemon GOlooks to have lots in store for fans as the mobile game moves into a jam-packed August. Next month will see a fan-favorite eighth generation Pokemon finally making itsPokemon GOdebut, withSnom and Frosmoth set to be introducedto the mobile game.
