Hisuian Qwilfishand its evolution,Overqwil, were introduced to Poke-fans inPokemon Legends: Arceusin 2022, along with some otherHisuian forms. The pair of Dark/Poison type monsters can also be caught inPokemon GO, but evolving Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil requires an extra step that you may be confused about.
If you navigate to the profile page of a Hisuian Qwilfish inPokemon GO, you’ll see the Evolve Button and the text underneath it, which reads, “Adventure together to evolve.” You can actually press on the arrow next to the text, and you’ll see the second evolution requirement.
How to Evolve Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokemon GO
Normally, toevolve Qwilfish into Overqwil inPokemon GO, you not only need 50 Qwilfish Candy, but you’ll also have to beat 10 raids.It seems that, as long as the Qwilfish is yourBuddy Pokemon, you don’t need toactuallyuse it in battle.
However, if you’re reading this guide before the end of theUltra Unlock: Hisui Celebration event, then you are in luck.The evolution requirement for Qwilfish has been reduced from ten raids to just one.
While the event ends on the 13th of July, you’ll actually be able to take advantage of this bonus until July 14 at 10 am PT/ 1 PM ET. And until the event ends, you will also have anincreased chance of finding Shiny Hisuian Qwilfish and Hisuian Voltorb.
If you want to try and get as much Qwilfish Candy as possible, make sure to take advantage of the increased spawns during the Ultra Unlock event anduse Pinap Berries during encounters to get extra Candy. You should also set a Hisuian Qwilfish as your Buddy Pokemon and travel with it for even more treats.
