Pokemon GOhas unveiled a new “Ultra Unlock” event set to run in early August, featuring a special Raid Day centered around Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia. The massively popular monster-catching mobile game offers plenty more ways for players to catch Pokemon outside roaming around and finding Pokemon in the wild. Players can find unique Pokemon throughPokemon GO’s Research missions, challenge Raids at different Gyms within the game, and hatch Pokemon from eggs. Now, a new Raid event is gearing up to feature some powerful and unusual Pokemon for players to take on.
Pokemon GO’s “Ultra Unlock” events provide players a unique incentive for engaging with the game’s special events, granting the ability to unlock greater rewards.2025’sPokemon GOFestin late June offered multiple tiers of rewards for clearing the game’s Global Challenges, with fans able to unlock different future events. Fans at the 2025 event managed to smash through each tier set by Niantic, withPokemon GOalready running the “Hisui Celebration” and “Steel and Scales” events. Now, the final reward from this year’sPokemon GOFest will arrive in just a couple of weeks.
Pokemon GOofficially unveiled its “Ultra Unlock Origin Raid Day” on Wednesday afternoon, with players able to battle both Origin Forme Pokemon. Players will be able to battle and capture both Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia with each boasting a special attack during the event, with Dialga sporting Roar of Time and Palkia with Spacial Rend. The event will alsooffer some Raid-focused bonuses, with players gaining 5 additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs and the Remote Raid limit raised to 20 among other perks.Pokemon GO’s Origin Raid Day will run on August 10 from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. local time.

Pokemon GO’s new Dialga and Palkia Raid event will give players the chance to pick up a pair of iconic Pokemon originating fromPokemon Legends: Arceus. The other Ultra Unlock rewards offered similar Hisui-themed perks, with the previously-mentioned Hisui Celebration event officiallyadding Hisuian Zorua and Zoroark toPokemon GO. Steel and Scales, while not steeped as far into Hisui, also added a trio of new Pokemon to the game, with Honedge and its evolutions making their long-awaited debut.
Pokemon GOfans should have plenty of opportunities to capitalize on the game’s newest Raid Day event. The event’s raised limit on Raids and bonus Raid Passes will grant even more chances for fans to pick up their favorite of the two Legendaries, potentially even finding a Shiny variant. Theunique attacks for the event Pokemonare likely to be powerful options in battle as well, with each attack serving as the respective Legendary Pokemon’s “signature move.” Fans of Dialga and Palkia won’t want to missPokemon GO’s next big Raid Day event in early August.
