APokemonfan artist recently devised a mecha form for Lucario, reimagining the popular Fighting/Steel-type critter. While mostPokemongamers who are into fan art often redesign monsters using official concepts that appeared in the games, such as Mega evolutions, Paradox forms, or regional variants, this fan decided to go for an anime-inspired mecha look instead.
Lucario first appeared inPokemon Diamond and Pearlas the evolution of Riolu. Duringthe fourth generation ofPokemongames, evolution was the only method to acquire Lucario, but later games have enabled trainers to find the popular creature in the wilds. Lucario has some fairly good offensive stats and access to powerful moves such as the Steel-type Meteor Mash, and the Fighting-type Close Combat. By using a Lucarionite, it’s also possible to turn into Mega Lucario.
Now, a prolificPokemonfan artist called shunixe has redesigned Lucario as Mechario. This new mecha form is still undeniably similar to the original Lucario, but it gives the Pokemon metallic plates instead of skin, and it makes Lucario’s canine head resemble a helmet. The design keeps Lucario’s blue and black colors, and uses yellow and red in some parts of the mecha armor.
Pokemon Fan’s Mecha Lucario
Shunixe is a popular creator in the community, and has shown a love for Lucario, so this is not the first time that the fan devised an artwork inspired by this Pokemon. Last year, shunixe gave Lucario aMonster Hunter-themed makeover. The design distilled Lucario’s essence fairly well, keeping the shape of its canine head but giving it a body that made it look like a dragon.
Another interesting artwork featuring Lucario was shared by another talented fan a while ago. Thisfan designed a fusion of Mudkip and Lucario, coming up with a Water/Fighting-type critter that greatly resembled a human-shaped Mudkip with Lucario’s color patterns.
These were not all the interesting works to feature Lucario, though.Another fan devised a Fire-type Lucario, too, which was named Lucanine. This Fire/Fighting-type beast was unique, as it made Lucario resemble a dog even more by turning it into a quadruped. However, the design also shows the Pokemon invoking a soul guardian made of flames with huge fists. Hopefully, other fans will continue to come up with creative new forms for popular creatures. WithPokemon Legends: Z-Acoming up later this year, it’s even more likely that others will have fresh ideas and will share them with the community.
