Pokemonand Razer are teaming up with a new collaboration. This isn’t the first time that the two brands have partnered, withPokemonand Razer previously releasing electronics and gaming accessories branded with the series' logo and some fan-favorite pocket monsters.
Razer is a well-known and popular computer, gaming, and electronics manufacturer, known for products like the Razer Kraken headset line. However, the company has been known to work with third parties to produce branded products. One of the most recent examples of this wasRazer andSquid Gamepartnering to produce phone cases, gaming mice, mouse pads, and more.
Now, Razer has teased a new collection that it’s producing withPokemon. In a tweet, a brief teaser video was shared highlighting the two brands, with the text teasing “Are you ready for a new journey?” The new collection will be revealed in full on July 17 at 8am PT. For now, the companies haven’t revealed anything else officially, but it has hinted at some things in the comments. Multiple users have asked if the newPokemonRazer collection will be exclusive to China, as was the case with some prior releases. Though it didn’t provide an official yes or no answer to this, it responded to one fan with a simple “ok,” while its other responses to similar queries ranged from looking emoji to “you’ll see.”
What Can Pokemon Fans Expect from New Razer Collab?
While Razer hasn’t offered an official answer on what the collaboration will contain or where it will be available, there are some likely directions it will go in.
To start, it seems reasonable that Razer wouldn’t be advertising this collaboration on its worldwide account in English, with a North American time zone, if it weren’t going to be available to at least a portion of the western world. However, given the phrasing of it being a “new journey,” it doesn’t seem likely that the drop will include the requested release of the Gengar headset outside of China. Instead, there will most likely benew Razer productsthat haven’t been seen before.
Fans can also glean some possibilities given what Razer has previously released withPokemon. Some examples of its prior releases include cute Pikachu earbuds that are stored in a Poke Ball case, as well asPikachu-themed keyboards, gaming mice, and mousepads. Razer’s recent collaboration withSquid Gameincluded shells for the Razer Orochi V2, so those who already own the mouse may be able to look forward to swapping its cover with aPokemon-themed one. While phone cases are also a possibility, they seem less likely to happen here, given there are already numerous officialPokemonphone cases available.
While Razer andPokemonremain tight-lipped, fans should prepare for July 17, as the reveals may sell out quickly.
