PlayStationconsole exclusive gameEntwinedhas been delisted from the PlayStation Store with no prior announcement or warning. Games are occasionally removed from the PlayStation Store for a variety of reasons. Most oftentimes it’s due to expiring licenses, which is something that rarely applies toPlayStation-published games.

Entwinedwas first released for PlayStation 4 in June 2014 before eventually making its way to PlayStation 3 and theill-fated PS Vita. Mobile versions of the game were also produced. Announced and shadow dropped during Sony’s E3 2014 press conference,Entwinedis an artsy game where players control the soul of a bird with one analog stick and the soul of a fish with the other. While the game earned mixed reviews from critics, many were impressed with its art style and music. Unfortunately for PlayStation gamers interested in checking outEntwinedfor themselves, the game has suddenly been removed from the PlayStation Store, and it’s unclear why.

Entwinedappears to have been removed from the PlayStation Store within the last week, with the game no longer available to purchase on any of Sony’s consoles. WhileEntwinednever received a native port to PS5,PS5’s backward compatibilitymeant that it was readily available on the company’s latest console prior to it being delisted. Anyone that already hasEntwinedcan continue to download and play it, but any potential newcomers that might have wanted to buy it are out of luck until the game is returned to the PlayStation Store.

Entwined Has Been Delisted from the PlayStation Store

It’s unclear whyEntwinedwas removed from the PlayStation Store, so it’s hard to say when it might be back. What we do know is thatEntwineddeveloper PixelOpus was shut down over two years ago. AfterEntwined, the studio madeConcrete Genie, an action-adventure game that utilized the DualShock 4’s motion controls and featured an optional VR component.Concrete Geniereviews were strongerthanEntwined, but the game wasn’t successful enough to save the studio from being shut down by Sony.

PixelOpus was shut downwhile it was working on a new project for PlayStation 5. There aren’t many details on what that project was, but it likely would have featured an emphasis on art and music like its previous efforts. HopefullyEntwinedreturns to the PlayStation Store sooner rather than later so those interested in checking out PixelOpus' work can do so, and in the meantime,Concrete Genieis still readily available at the time of this writing.
