Kiuchi Palacewill be the first true challenge for players diving into the Metaverse ofPersona 5: The Phantom X, and for those trying to claim its 100% completion rewards, it can be even more challenging.
Those wondering where to find all Fan Cards, Treasure Chests, Memory Shards, and how to solve the many puzzles in this ‘dungeon,’ should take a look at this guide, which offers a lot of useful information on how to break through the various challenges in Kiuchi Palace.
Basic Mechanics In Kiuchi Palace
Kiuchi Palace has lots of different traps, puzzles, and traversal mechanics that players need to understand before trying to delve into. There are various puzzles that use pressure plates, and players need to move Pitching Machines (Baseball Spitting Contraptions) to activate pressure plates or to shoot at target switches.
Players will also have a chance to ‘ambush’ enemies to gain an advantage during combat (Chance). But some enemies cannot be ambushed as they will be static. In those cases, they will be guarding important loot, switches, or area transition doors.
Breakable objects grant Konpaku Gems, and can be spotted using theSight(Q in PC), which also highlights puzzle objectives, hidden codes, and other visual clues that players need to follow in order to traverse the Palace.
One of the main things to keep in mind is that players will have to unlock certain doors using Color Baseball Balls, and Fan Cards. Fan Cards are found during intermissions (cutscenes) between the Main Story that follows the Kiuchi Palace infiltration, and what happens outside of the Metaverse (in the real world).
All Types Of Puzzles In Kiuchi Palace & How To Solve Them
Puzzles in Kiuchi Palace are quite simple, and they only require a little bit of observation. But just in case, here’s a quick guide on how to solve each type of puzzle found inside the palace:
Kiuchi Palace Walkthrough
At the start of the Infiltration, players will need the Grappling Hook, which can be crafted in the Workbench at their homes. Once they have the Grappling Hook ready, they can start infiltrating Kuichi Palace. The first area to explore will be theExhibition Hall 1F,which is a pretty straightforward location, with low difficulty puzzles (still, it is recommended that players consult the Puzzle Section above to familiarize themselves with each type of puzzle) and a one-way path that leads to uncover the firstCutscene, battle Kiuchi’s minions and finally reach Exhibition Hall 2F by going through the Central Zone of the Exhibition Hall.
Players will soon find themselves in a dead end and will have to return later after a cutscene. But don’t panic, this is normal for every Palace exploration, and will repeat several times until players face the Boss. These ‘Intermissions’ are often accompanied by a big chunk of gameplay outside the Metaverse and a sub-questto level up Wonder, so be patient and follow the Main Story. In the first of these Intermissions, Lufel and Wonder will return to prepare more, not without grabbing the Fan Card Tier C from the Control Room in Exhibition Hall 2F.
After Motoha Arai joins the crew, the exploration becomes a little bit more complex. There are new traps to avoid (mostly ball-spitting traps, and Baseball Glove traps), and enemies to defeat along the way. The next objective is to go back to theCentral Exhibition Hall, where players will spot a puzzle that requires them to Defeat aStrong Shadow, then this shadow will murmur a code (3..1..3..2..0). If players use the Third Eye, they will see a series of Display Cases with Baseballs inside. Players need to activate the one that has 3 balls, then the one that has 1 ball, and again the one that has 3, followed by the one that has 2 balls, and the one that has no balls inside for the last.
Players need to use the Elevator to reach theSouthern Rooftop Access, and then traverse this zone to reach the Training Hall. A new zone with more puzzles, mainly focused on Ball Pitching Machines can also cause damage to players if they are hit with the balls, so be careful. In this section of the Palace, players need to acquire theB Fan Card, by reaching thelocker roomon the opposite side of the building. It’s going to be a long route, so prepare to face a couple ofchallenging enemiesblocking the way.
After the cutscene, players will be able to trace back a little bit and reach a new area. The second elevator becomes available, opening the route to theNorthern Rooftopthat leads toClub 1F. Upon entering, players will notice that the landscape has changed significantly: New puzzles, includingPitcher Hand GestureandDisco Floor Pattern, are the new challenges to solve. Players will also need to consider picking up whatever Chest and Memory Shard they come across, to ensure they at least have a certain level of completion before coming back to explore each zone in detail.
The Club has 3 Floors, each of them interconnected through a series ofpassages, stairs, andair ducts.TheA Fan Cardthat can be obtained in the first playthrough of Kiuchi Palace is located atClub 2F,in aVIP Roomof sorts. Wonder and the crew need to solve a main puzzle in the Dance Floor (located at Club 1F) to reach the stairs that lead to 2F. Start by unlocking the second floor by solving thePitcher Hand Gesture puzzlesand deactivating theElectrical Switches.
Once players have opened the way to the Club 2F, and solved all the puzzles, they will obtain aPink Ball Key.They need to return to theDance Floor (Club 1F), and defeat some enemies on their way, then they will be able to climb to the 3F through the door that leads to the stairs, and open the path to the last area:the Center Field. After a cutscene, players will be directed to go back to the Real World to distribute a Challenge Card, forcing the boss Kiuchi to appear. Now, teleport back to the Center Field Safe Zone, and enter the Treasure Room to challenge the boss.
How To Beat Kiuchi Palace Boss Cupid
Players will first face Kiuchi in his ‘human’ form, which is relatively easy to defeat. Then, after beating him, he will evolve into Cupid, showing his ‘true form.’ Cupid is bulkier and more resilient, and the battle will happen in three phases. Players will have to beat him three times (four in total counting Kiuchi’s human shadow form), and each phase has its own mechanics.
In thefirst phase, Cupid will target one of the party members, who needs to defend before he unleashes a powerful attack that deals massive damage.
In thesecond phase, Cupid calls two Angels to the fight, which are quite annoying and need to go out first before players can deal enough damage to the Boss to force him into going to the third and final stage.
During thethird phase,Cupid calls twocheerleader shadowsthat will empower him, causing the next turn to be a powerful all out attack that can wipe out the entire team. Players need to execute these cheerleaders to force Cupid into submission, stunning him and allowing players to deal even more damage. This mechanic repeats until the boss is finally defeated. After the cutscene, players will escape the Palace, whichwill be destroyed. But players shouldn’t worry, as they can come back later for the 100% Completion run.
Fan Card Locations
Players need to be aware of certain things before trying to get 100% completion of Kiuchi Palace, and one of them is related to an item specific from this dungeon: Fan Cards, which are basically access cards that open certain closed doors and grant access to each of the areas’s loot and hidden Bosses.
Fan Cards go from Rank C, to B, to A, and finally S. The infiltration into Kiuchi Palace has threeIntermissionsand aFinal Boss, with each intermission granting one of the cards starting with C, and ending with A. The A Tier Fan Card grants access to the final location of Kuichi Palace (Club Floor 3) and to the Boss (Cupid). Once players have beaten the boss, they will be able to come back to the Palace through theRecollectionstab in theMetaversemenu, to reach 100% Completion.
At that point, theS Tier Fan card will become available, and players will be able to access the rest of the Palace. To get the S Tier Fan Card, players need to return to theClub 3F, through the zone opposite to where they accessed the Central Field, then use the Air Ducts to open a path towards the VIP Room in the Northernmost side of the Third Floor.
It is not possible to reach 100% completion of Kiuchi Palace until players beat the Boss and steal the Treasure.
All Completion Rewards
To claim completion rewards, open theMap Menuwhile inside the Palace, and select ‘Rewards,’ which isclose to the Fast Travel button. All rewards can be claimed each time 10% of the Palace is completed, up to 100%. Players can claim rewards even after they defeat the Palace Boss when revisiting through the Recollections Menu.

How to Complete 100% Kiuchi Palace
Before reaching Kiuichi Palace 100% Completion, it is important to mention that players won’t be able to complete this Palace 100% unless they beat the Palace Boss (Cupid). When they do so, the Palace will effectively disappear, but players will be able to visit it again through theChamber of RecollectionsMenu in the Metaverse Tab. The other important aspect is that consulting the Completion Rewards menu in the Map window helps track down progression, and each area has a progression chart of its own, which is also a nice feature.
Breakable objects are not part of the Completion Requirements for Kiuchi Palace, but they still provide Konpaku gems when broken. It is recommended that players pick them up anyway to get more of this currency.
The following References will help players spot every chest, Boss, and secret in Kiuchi Palace, to reach 100% Completion. Check the images at each of the areas to spot each of the collectiblesneeded to earn all the rewards:
