With a powerful kit that shifts between AoE and Critical Nukes, Motoha excels at dealing tons of damage in only a few turns. Her primary Passive ‘Strike Zone’ boosts the party’s critical chances by causing Shock on enemies hit by her Electric attacks. It also boosts Electric Damage caused by 30%, which, combined with her powerful Follow Up Attacks, ends up causing tons of damage.

Blitz mine is okay for a party-buff skill, but there are better ways to buff the party than to keep Closer spamming this attack.
Best Closer Weapons in Persona 5 The Phantom X
Quasaris the best weapon that can be currently obtained for Closer in P5X, and its main passive isThunderstorm, which increases Electric damage by 24.2%, and grants 1 Thundercloud stack after using a skill, which in turn, increases Motoha’s Attack by 11.0%. Closer gains 1 more stack if there are any Shocked foes, and these stacks last 2 turns and stack up to 3 times. When Thundercloud is at max stacks, increase the party’s Electric damage by 10.0%. A powerful effect that can pair up nicely with Trust and Power (Or Trust and Renewal) Revelation cards.

Crime and Punishment increases Motoha’s attack by 12%, and an extra 26% if there’s any Shocked foe facing her in combat.
Best Closer Revelations Cards
Trust and Completionis the ideal combo ofRevelation and Mind cardsfor Motoha Arai, since it empowers Electric Damage caused by Electric attacks by 10%. This set also increases Motoha’s Electric damage by 9% each time another party member uses an Electric attack, and stacks up to 27%. TheCompletioncards, which can be obtained in the Exchange by purchasing Random Revelation Cards, or through the MetaverseRealms of Repression: Words of Nature, are the core of this build. The Trust card, on the other hand, has a passive effect that activates when 3 Electric Attack buffs are applied to the party, boosting all Electric Damage by 12%. If players are going for a Wonder Electric Persona + Skull + Closer team composition, then this is the ideal choice.
Players can check theCore Attribute Goalsof each character by selecting the Spyglass Icon next to their names in the Thieve’s Menu. This sub-menu will reveal all the necessary stats to reach maximum performance with each of the Phantom Thieves. In the case of Motoha Arai (Closer), she needs to reach at least 2550 Attack, Multi Attack Increased Damage 67%, Crit Rate 37 %, and Multi Attack Critical Chance of 177% to maximize her offensive power.
Growth and Poweris another decent option, increasing base Attack by 12 %, and the whole party’s damage by 10% every 6 turns, up to 30 % (3 stacks). This set also increases the maximum number of attack buffs applied to Closer by 5, which is a decent strategy if players have Leon on their Party setup. Leon’s ability to empower Motoha’s attack with The Power of Friendship and Ultra Booster makes Closer excel at her Sweeping role, blasting foes in an instant with Electroshark or Wrathful Thunder. This set focuses more on delivering buffs to Closer than the whole party, and its ideal for compositions with Closer as main attacker and Leon as supporter.
Best Closer Team Composition in P5X
WithMotoha playing the role of Sweeper, players don’t have to worry about running out of Shocked or Weakened effects on objectives that are Vulnerable to Electric Damage. Motoha specializes in finishing the fight as fast as possible, so having her Uber Buffed with Leon as main support andOkyann’s Retro Dance Number(which increases Elemental Damage andchances of causing Ailments to enemies), is a decent option for Starter comps.Lufelis a decent healer to add to this composition, since his Starfire buff can also empower Motoha’s Attack threshold significantly. A more advanced Team Composition has Closer as asecondary attackerandElectric buffer, whileLeonplays a key role in synergy with Skull. By reducing Skull’s HP and activating his passive ability (Wounded Glory), he becomes a powerful berserker-type attacker. His Persona (Captain Kidd) has the Multi-Target attack Thunderbolt, which, combined with Closer’s buff on Electric damage for the party and Leon’s uber buffing skills, becomes a tremendous asset against multiple foes.
Finally, an all-out attack team composed ofWonderwith Electric Buff Personas,Riddler(since she buffs Multi-attacks)Leon, andCloseris a decent lineup. Using Okyann’s buff skills and delay tactics to ensure the Growth and Power Revelation kit activates entirely (buffing damage to the max) will result in Closer unleashing an all-out attack that will Crit for five-figure values. Of course, this also depends on the situation, since certain enemies are resistant to electric damage. Though this team comp is perfect for theVelvet Trials: Thunderous Blessing, and will help players clear it in no time.
