Synergy Ranksare a way to increase the level of theBondsthat can be formed with a select number of characters, called ‘accomplices’ inPersona 5: The Phantom X, and players can increase their Synergy level to earn lots ofRewards.Wonder and these characters become Confidants, and some might even turn into Best Friends or Soul Mates, depending on the circumstances.
Here’s a guide to every Synergy bond, how to unlock it, best gifts to give to each character, and all the rewards players can earn by increasing their Synergy Rank with those characters.
How To Unlock Synergy Bonds & Ranks
While playing the Main Story ofPersona 5: The Phantom X, the first Synergy Bond to be unlocked will be withLufel. This cute owl companion will allow players to use the Workbench from the first rank and will alsounlock the Synergy Rank system, which is associated with the City Life activities and Social Stats.
Basically, players will raise their stats (Charm, Kindness, Knowledge, Gutts, and Proficiency) and unlock new opportunities to have encounters with the Synergy Bond characters, raising their Synergy Rank in the process. These outings cost players some Action Points each time they participate in one of them, so be mindful about that, as there are only a few Action Points available per day.
All Shun Synergy Ranks & Rewards
Shun Kanois one of the few male characters with whom players can form bonds. His preferences are all food-related, so bringing him cooking knives, spices, ingredients, and the Last Model Vacuum Cleaner (preferred) as gifts will boost his Synergy Rank faster. All Synergy Rank Perks that can be unlocked by increasing this Confidant’s Synergy Rank will improve the Cooking ability of Wonder, granting more recipes, boosts to crafting output, and improved chances to cook better quality dishes. To level up Shun’s Synergy Ranks, players need to upgrade theirGutsSocial Stat. Guts can be leveled by working at the Beef Bowl Shop or exercising at the Gym.

That First Sip Frame
Players can spend more AP (Action Points) during encounters with confidants to increase their Synergy Rank Faster. It is recommended that they do this with Merope to increase their Bonds with her as soon as possible, to unlock all Persona Fusion recipes.
All Merope Synergy Ranks & Rewards
Merope is one of the first Synergy Bonds players unlock with their Confidants, since she is assigned to them by Igor himself to be their Temporary Concierge (whatever that means). She will ask players a lot of questions during their outings, and demand that they use the Fuse Persona Feature in the Velvet Room to meet the requirements for the next meeting. To unlock Merope’s Synergy Bond, players need to complete the mission ‘Traces of Dreams.’ Merope’s Synergy Ranks mostly unlock new Persona Fusions, but here’s a list of all the rewards according to each rank.

All Yaoling Li Synergy Ranks & Rewards
Yaoling Li is another Synergy Bond unlocked further down the Man Quest, particularly after completing the ‘Foreign Exchange’ mission. Yaoling’s Synergy Ranks unlock new recipes for Cooking, which is extremely useful, and also more battle items like Elemental Firecrackers, also useful in a pinch. The main stat that allows players to increase Synergy Bond with Yaoling Li is Knowledge, so be sure to raise it up if she’s the priority target. Yaoling is also one of the few Romanceable characters currently available, and she unlocks the Soulmate Status at Rank 15. Players can also earn the Best Friend Status with her, unlocking different rewards on the higher Rankings. Here are all her Synergy Rank Rewards:

Yui’s Synergy Bond unlocks once players complete the side mission ‘Virtual Encounter,’ andplayers require a high level of Kindnessto befriend her. Lufel will be the first Confidant that players will form a Bond with, right after completing the ‘Awakening of Desire’ quest. Lufel Synergy Rank rewards are mostly related to Workbench crafting, Infiltration Tools, and quality of life improvements for Metaverse exploration (like the ability to insta-kill low-level shadows), and crafting bonuses to spend fewer resources and get more tools. Motoha Arai Synergy Bond unlocks right after completing Kiuchi Palace, during the Side Mission ‘The Day The Pearl Flies!.’ She is one of the three currently available Romance options inPersona 5: The Phantom X, and can also become Best Friends if players choose so. Meeting herrequires high Proficiency levels, so players might want to farm this Social Stat if they are aiming to befriend/romance Motoha. Tomoko is anotherone of the Romanceable characters in the game, and one of the most useful Synergy Bonds to unlock with Confidants. She becomes available while progressing through Miyazawa’s Palace, after completing thePart-Time Dreamerside-mission. Tomoko unlocks many boosts to Part Timing, and even more profitable Part Time Jobs, so it’s one of the players' preferred options to Rank up faster. All Kayo Tomiyama Synergy Ranks & Rewards
Kayo Tomiyama’s Synergy Bond is unlocked by completing the ‘Generations Apart’ side-mission, right after completing the last part of Miyazawa’s Palace Infiltration. Kayo Tomiyama cannot be romanced, and she can become aBest Friend(much like Yui). She grants some interesting customization unlocks, mostly Clothes, and access to clothes and accessory shops in Shibuya.
