PEAKis a co-op climbingsurvival gamethat throws you and your friends into the wild after a plane crash leaves you stranded on a mysterious island. Your only hope of rescue is to scale the mountain at the island’s center and reach its peak. Throughout your climb, a persistent fog will gradually rise up the mountain. If you fall into or remain in this fog for too long, you will start facingFrost. This guide breaks down how Frost affects you and how you can deal with it inPEAK.

What Does Frost Do in PEAK?

Frost is a dangerous status effect that makes surviving much harder, especially in the higher, colder biomes of the mountains. The main way Frost affects you is byslowly reducing your maximumstaminainPEAK.

As your maximum stamina decreases, it becomes harder to make long climbs, maintain your grip, and escape dangerous situations. If you let Frost build up too much, you’ll eventually drain your stamina and become more prone to falling, resulting in instant death.

How to Deal With Frost in PEAK

There are a few different ways to deal with the Frost, depending on where you’re facing it.

Avoiding Frost from the Fog

The fog that follows you up the mountain acts like a soft timer, slowly pushing you to keep moving. If you fall behind and stay in the fog too long, Frost starts building up. The most effective way to avoid Frost from the rising fog is to simply climb faster. Avoid backtracking and don’t stay in areas below the fog line.

If you’d rather take your time exploring, you can disable the fog entirely. Head to the Gate Kiosk at the airport and choose theTenderfootdifficulty option inPEAK. This removes the time limit, preventing the fog from rising and eliminating the risk of Frost.
